System Shutdown Update

An orderly shutdown of the subway and bus system is scheduled to begin today.

Subway shutdown begins at 7 PM.

Bus shutdown begins at 9 PM.

Metro-North Railroad and the Long Island Rail Road will start their final trains by 7 PM.

Plans may change as storm conditions warrant. Please visit mta.info and/or monitor your local news broadcast.

• This system shutdown plan is in advance of severe weather conditions caused by Hurricane Sandy.
• Our goal is to restore as much service as possible after assessing the storm's impact to critical infrastructure and determining which segments of individual train, subway and bus routes can safely be restored.
