E-ZPass Violation

Accidental Exit At E-ZPass® Only Lane?

Since MTA Bridges and Tunnels has gated barriers at all our facilities, we do not issue E-ZPass violations or mail out notices. If an E-ZPass tag is invalid, the gate will not rise and allow the vehicle to move through the lane. Other E-ZPass agencies, such as the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and the New York State Thruway, through their video enforcement system, issue violations for toll evasion and speeding. Since these violations are agency specific, the issue must be addressed with the issuing agency. MTA E-ZPass account holders who receive violation notices from other agencies should contact the E-ZPass Customer Service Center by calling the toll free number 1 800-333-TOLL (8655). A customer service representative will be able to answer any specific questions.

Where do I send a deferred toll payment? Can I pay it online? How long will it take for my check to be cashed?

We do not currently accept online, or cash payments. Please send a check or money order for the full amount of the toll and a $2 service fee to the address below. Resident and E-ZPass discounts are not applicable. Please make sure your license plate number is on the check or money order. Processing normally takes at least 60 days.
