Extension — Hudson Yards Rezoning and Development Program
Project Description
The
Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the City
of New York Department of City Planning propose to promote the transit-oriented
redevelopment of the Hudson Yards area (“the Hudson Yards”),
which extends generally from West 28th Street on the south, Eighth Avenue
on the east, West 43rd Street on the north and the Hudson River Park on
the west. The proposed action includes

Construction and operation of an extension of the
Subway Line to serve the Hudson Yards -
Adoption of zoning map and text amendments to the New York City Zoning Resolution and related land use actions to permit the development of the Hudson Yards as a mixed-use community

Other public actions, including

Expansion and modernization of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, including the construction of new exhibition space and a new hotel,

New or replacement transportation facilities for pedestrian movement, vehicle storage and other public purposes.
