Fulton Street Transit Center Project


Construction Update


The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has begun the following work on the Fulton Street Transit Center:


New southern entrances to 4 train 5 train station


  • New entrances, including stairways and fare control areas have opened at Maiden Lane and Broadway (for the northbound platform) and at Cortlandt Street and Broadway (for the southbound platform).
  • Cortlandt Street has been reopened to traffic between Church Street and Broadway.

  • Two moving lanes of traffic will be maintained on Broadway during the construction period.

Dey Street passageway

Construction on the Dey Street passageway linking the Fulton Street Transit Center with the World Trade Center site is underway.

Work Hours

Normal Work Hours:
Mon – Fri, 7 AM to 10 PM

When Required:
Sat – Sun, 10 AM to 10 PM;
Mon – Sun, 10 PM to 7 AM

Traffic Staging

Lane closures in Dey Street, Church Street, and Broadway

  • One lane of traffic maintained on Dey Street (for deliveries and emergency vehicles); Dey Street closed to through traffic
  • Three lanes of traffic maintained on Church Street
  • Two lanes of traffic maintained on Broadway
Cortlandt Street Station Closure

  • The Cortlandt Street station is closed until further notice. Use the City Hall or Rector St stations for R train W train service.

Deconstruction of East of Broadway buildings

  • Deconstruction of buildings on the east side of Broadway between Fulton and John Streets is continuing. Two moving traffic lanes on Broadway and a pedestrian walkway will be maintained at that location
