Hours of Work:	Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and direct all activities of the Engineering Division including overseeing the implementation of state-of-the-art facility technology, multiple capital projects and technical services.
Develop and oversee the implementation of appropriate technical policies and practices throughout LI Bus as they pertain to facilities and fleet vehicles.
Coordinate capital facility improvement with outside vendors, county officials, LI Bus personnel and regulatory agencies; oversee the capital construction and activities throughout the organization.
Perform and direct the general facility oversight function of all operating locations, including all bus depots and terminals, including Hempstead Transit Center, Levy, Rockville Centre and Stewart Avenue depots.
Direct the project management, strategic planning and integration of new facility technologies specifically driven by the use of alternative fuel (CNG) compressed natural gas technology throughout MTA LI Bus; direct and coordinate the functions of facilities maintenance and capital program departments.
Coordinate and participate in the development of new technologies and legislation that supports service and facilities-related codes and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Chemical or related engineering discipline with 10 years in the engineering area with eight years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Five or more year’s experience with natural gas technology, maintenance and design for facilities and vehicles is required.
Knowledge of construction, vehicle design, reliability, determination and HVAC controls are required.
Must possess experience in a transportation operating environment.
Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal codes are required.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills are required.
Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
