Supervisor:	Director of Scheduled Maintenance System (SMS)
Hours of Work:	8:30 am to 5:00 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with creating and maintaining technical drawings using CAD software for new bus specifications, contracts, and procurement of maintenance materials.
Participate in investigating issues related to the structure of the bus including metallurgy, welds, cracks, corrosion, fasteners, strain gauge testing, and Finite Element Analysis.
Investigate issues related to the air system, including the compressor, air dryer, oil/water separator, air brakes, and suspension.
Assists in performing First Article Inspections on parts and components to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Assist in the preparation of specifications, bulletins, directives, procedures, presentations, cost/benefit analysis, and other reports for the department.
Provide mechanical engineering assistance to the department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field from an accredited institution is required.
Must possess a clean and valid New York State Driver’s License.
Ability to handle multiple projects and to oversee project implementation.
Effective writing, organization and communication skills are required.
Basic PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access are required. Working knowledge of Auto CAD or similar software program is required.
Experience in transportation/industrial workplace desirable.
One year of experience in an engineering field is preferred.
