Extra Service for New Year's Holiday December 28 & 31; January 1
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PROHIBITED ON LIRR TRAINS, PLATFORMS AND AT STATIONS ON NEW YEAR'S EVE AND THROUGH MORNING ON NEW YEAR'S DAY
The MTA Long Island Rail Road will provide additional trains to and from Penn Station for the New Year's holiday. The extra service includes additional eastbound afternoon trains on Friday, December 28 and again on New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31; additional westbound trains into Penn Station on New Year's Eve and additional eastbound trains out of Penn Station on Tuesday, January 1.
As in prior years, alcohol will not be allowed on LIRR trains, stations and platforms on New Year's Eve and through the morning on New Year's Day. MTA Police will enforce this restriction.
The LIRR will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Friday, December 28 and again on Monday, December 31, New Year's Eve, with eight additional trains from Penn Station between 2:09 PM and 3:48 PM on both days. The additional trains are as follows:
Babylon BranchLeave Penn Station at 2:22 PM, express to Lynbrook, then all stops to Babylon.
Leave Penn Station at 3:00 PM, Jamaica, Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon.
Leave Penn Station at 3:31 PM, express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon.

Leave Penn Station at 2:25 PM, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, New Hyde Park, then all stops to Huntington.

The LIRR will operate on a normal weekend schedule on Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30. On Monday, December 31, New Year's Eve, the LIRR will be operating on a weekday schedule with eighteen additional westbound trains provided between 4:55 PM and 8:39 PM for holiday revelers. The additional trains are:
