175th Anniversary - Customer Appreciation Days
MTA Long Island Rail Road is marking its 175th anniversary in 2009, but LIRR customers will be the ones getting presents. To thank riders for their patronage, the LIRR will hold Customer Appreciation Days each month in 2009, offering all a chance to win tickets to Broadway shows, sporting events and more.
The celebration will begin with Customer Appreciation Days at Penn Station on Tuesday, February 24 and Wednesday, March 18. On each of those days, a drawing will be held in Penn Station's 34th Street Entranceway. Customers can enter a business card or fill out a raffle form to win tickets to the shows "Thomas & Friends Live!" and "Dora The Explorer Live" in February and "The Little Mermaid" and "Mama Mia!" in March. Winners do not have to be present to collect their prizes, which are being provided at no cost to the LIRR by participating sponsors.
