Mets Tickets and $500 Shopping Spree Courtesy of Macy’s Herald Square Are Latest MTA LIRR ‘Customer Appreciation Giveaways’

Railroad launches online sweepstakes with monthly prize

The MTA Long Island Rail Road revs up its 175th anniversary celebration by launching an online Customer Appreciation Giveaway Contest that will award one big prize each month for the rest of 2009. In April, the grand prize is a $500 shopping spree courtesy of Macy’s Herald Square, well-known as the World’s Largest Department Store.

Also, this month at Penn Station customers will have a chance to win four Mets tickets, courtesy of the New York Mets, for the May 9 game with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The 175th anniversary festivities this month will also feature more of our popular Customer Appreciation Day celebrations.

At Ronkonkoma Station on Tuesday, April 7 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., we will raffle off passes to the Auto Show and Madame Tussaud’s as well as coupons to Tanger Deer Park at the Arches.

At Penn Station on Tuesday, April 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the raffle will feature New York Mets tickets, tickets to Kooza - Cirque Du Soleil’s latest show, four $100 gift certificates to Macy’s Herald Square, tickets to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex and the “Bodies: The Exhibition.” Also at the Penn Station event, the LIRR’s Spin & Win Game will offer instant prizes to customers who take a turn at our spinning wheel. Those prizes include 200 round trip rail tickets compliments of Kooza, Tanger Deer Park at the Arches coupon books and other promotional items.
