Take The Train To The Game … The FOOTBALL Game
Jets & Giants fans … are you tired of fighting tunnel traffic on the way to the game? Are you frustrated sitting in the Meadowlands Stadium parking lot after the game, waiting an hour or more just to get on the road?
Have we got a solution for you!
Starting this week, for both preseason and regular season games, Giants and Jets fans will be able to buy one ticket from an LIRR ticket machine/office that will allow them to combine the services of the LIRR and New Jersey Transit trains to get to the stadium.
“How’s that?” you ask.
Well, the MTA is coordinating its various services with those provided by New Jersey Transit … in order to get you to the Meadowlands … and the round-trip ticket from Penn Station to the game costs just $7.75!
You’ll beat the traffic, the tolls, the parking headaches and high gas prices … a win, win, win, win situation … you win before you even get to the stadium!
You can now take a Penn Station-bound train from one of our stations near you, where you’ll board a New Jersey Transit train for the 9-minute ride to Secaucus Junction, and then connect with their Meadowlands Service's 10-minute ride to the stadium.
And just like that, you’ll be strolling from the train into the stadium in time for the kickoff. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance.
Two notes: the Meadowlands Stadium does not allow coolers or any oversized containers on their property … and those using their monthly tickets to get to Penn will have to buy their $7.75 round trip to the game from New Jersey Transit in Penn Station.

Agents Assist with Ticket Purchases
On Wednesday, August 19, Long Island Rail Road personnel will be available to assist customers who are using ticket machines at stations where ticket office windows are scheduled to be closed. They will remain at these stations during normal ticket office hours until Tuesday, August 25 (excluding the weekend). The ticket machines at the affected stations are available to customers 24-hours a day.

2009 US Tennis Open
