2013 Belmont Park Service
LIRR's 'Belmont Special' is at the Starting Gate and Ready for Fall Racing
MTA LIRR & NYRA Partner to Provide Train Service to Belmont Park for Fall Meet
The thoroughbreds are back from Saratoga and the MTA Long Island Rail Road's 'Belmont Special' is at the starting gate and ready for the fall racing season at beautiful Belmont Park. The LIRR is partnering with The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) again this year to provide regular train service for racing fans for the start of the Fall Meet Saturday, September 7, and continuing through October 27. Through the partnership, NYRA is subsidizing the cost of operating the LIRR Belmont service for racing fans.
Belmont Park is only a half-hour train ride from midtown Manhattan and the LIRR's "Belmont Special" ticket package entitles LIRR customers to a $1 discount off the regular $3 grandstand admission.
Post time is 12:50 PM on all racing days. The Park admission gates open at 11:15 AM daily. There is no racing on Mondays and Tuesdays, except Columbus Day, October 14. There is no racing on Wednesday, October 16.
