The following outlines the procedures to be followed in conducting a sweepstakes administered by the Long Island Rail Road.

I. Entering the Sweepstakes

A. General Eligibility Requirements

B. Mail&Ride Customers
A customer who purchases a Long Island Rail Road monthly commutation ticket through Mail&Ride automatically receives one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for a particular month if eligibility requirements are met, and:

C. Non-Mail&Ride Customers
1. Individuals meeting eligibility requirements who are not active Mail&Ride customers can enter the Sweepstakes without making a purchase. To receive one entry, hand print your name, complete mailing address, telephone number, date of birth, and the words "Long Island Rail Road Free Monthly Sweepstakes" on a plain 3"x 5" piece of paper or postcard & mail it in a sealed, stamped and hand printed #10 envelope to:

Hollis, NY 11423

II. How the Long Island Rail Road Receives and Stores Sweepstakes Mail In Submissions from Non-Mail&Ride Customers
A. Mail&Ride Department receives all sweepstakes entries from non-Mail&Ride customers by mail.

B. Each month, the Mail&Ride Department enters data from mail in submissions, assigning a sequential entry number to each 3"x 5" piece of paper or postcard.

III. How Winners are Selected, Notified and Confirmed
A. Drawing is held on the twentieth (20th) of the month (if not a workday, then the next succeeding workday).

B. Drawing is conducted by one (1) representative from the Mail&Ride Department and one (1) representative from the Controller's Department, whose decisions as to the administration and operation of the Sweepstakes and the selection of the potential winners are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. The representatives obtain a download/report of account numbers with sequentially assigned numbers from the current month's ticket issuance file and combine the valid customer account numbers with the sequentially numbered eligible mail in entries described in Section II above. Using a computerized random number generator, the Mail&Ride Department selects four (4) potential prizewinners and four (4) alternates each month, which selection is witnessed by a Controller's Department representative who signs and dates the list. After each potential winning entry is selected, it is checked to ensure that the eligibility requirements are met.

C. Monthly database files/reports are maintained by the Mail&Ride department.

D. The Mail&Ride Department contacts the potential winners by telephone on or about the twentieth (20th) of each month. The LIRR will follow up by certified mail with a letter and an affidavit of eligibility/release, which must be completed and returned by the potential winner in order to claim his/her prize. The affidavit of eligibility/release must be received by the LIRR no later than the date set forth in the letter, which will be seven (7) business days from such date. If a potential winner cannot be contacted or fails to sign and return the affidavit of eligibility/release within the required time period, the potential winner forfeits prize.

E. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, or of the inability to contact a winner, the return of any prize notification as undeliverable, or winner's being found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, the Mail&Ride Department will contact the first alternate who is now a potential winner. This procedure will continue with the next succeeding alternate, as necessary. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.

F. Winners will receive a Monthly ticket for the month (within the next three (3) subsequent months of the date of notification) they request.
