Emergency Exit Windows
| Emergency exit windows are easily recognizable
by the instruction sticker and the bright red handle at the top.
Bi-level coaches have eight of these windows—four on each level. |

The bi-level cars have eight emergency windows, four on each level. These
windows are clearly identifiable with a bright red handle and instruction
stickers. By pulling the red handle, you can remove the window’s rubber weather
stripping; the window could then be lifted into the car and placed on the
train floor. In the extremely unlikely event that passengers had to exit
through these emergency windows, the bi-levels have been designed so that
the upper and lower level windows are staggered and not directly on top of
each other.
