An Explanation for This Morning's (Friday, April 27) Harlem & New Haven Line Delays
The 15 to 20 minute delays you experienced this morning were caused by a disabled train in the vicinity of Woodlawn.
The train became disabled while changing tracks at a key interlocking (crossover) in the Bronx. This blocked two of four tracks that serve both the Harlem and New Haven Lines, severely limiting our operating capacity during the rush hour.
A rescue engine was immediately dispatched, and was able to clear the disabled train shortly after 9 AM.
We regret any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of this incident.
