Thank you for purchasing this package to the fairest of the fairs! You’ll enjoy an amazing day at New York State’s largest six-day fair. Come for the day…or come back again and again during the week.

As you can see, you have received two tickets: a round-trip rail ticket (VALID FOR OFF-PEAK TRAVEL ONLY), and a special event ticket marked “DUTCHFAIR”.

To get to the Fair, take Metro-North’s Hudson Line to Poughkeepsie Station. Give the conductor your rail ticket to punch and give back to you. Make sure to hold on to your rail ticket for your return trip home.

To get to and from the Fair and Poughkeepsie Station, you will need to take the connecting Dutchess Loop shuttle bus. When you get off the train, follow the signs to the bus area and look for the “LOOP” bus stop.

When you board the bus, you MUST purchase an all-day boarding pass (good for stops throughout the day at other locations along the way, like Hyde Park and Rhinebeck). Remember: This pass IS NOT included in your package.

Prices for the all-day one-way bus pass are as follows: adults, $3; seniors, children 5-11 and students with I.D., $1.50; children under 5 ride free. You MUST have exact change to purchase your bus pass.

Please note: The bus ride from Poughkeepsie Station to the Fair is approximately one hour.

Be sure to pick up a current Hudson Line timetable prior to departing Grand Central.

TRAIN/BUS SERVICE

TO FAIR

Shuttle bus meets trains departing Grand Central terminal at 9:29AM, 10:35AM and 12:35 PM arriving Poughkeepsie Station. Fair Shuttle departs at 9:45 AM, 10:50 AM and 12:50 PM

FROM FAIR

Bus departs the fairgrounds at 4:50 PM and 7:50 PM to connect with the 5:40 PM, and 8:40 PM to meet trains leaving Poughkeepsie Station for Grand Central Terminal.
