City Food Tours offers guided easy Walking Food Tasting Tours in New York City that have been designed to share a passion for great handmade foods and intimate neighborhood experiences. Visitors will visit hidden gems and learn how the foods are made and where they come from. These are unique, memorable, historic tours that your client won’t soon forget! Tours are suitable for ages 8 and up and include at least a half dozen food tastings, both savory and sweet. On Saturday tours, due to religious observance, certain vendors are closed. Alternate stops will be made.

LOWER EAST SIDE ARTISAN FOOD TOUR – 2 hours, .75 miles, easy walking
Learn about, taste and enjoy one of the oldest yet trendiest neighborhoods in Manhattan. Hear about the rich immigrant history of this downtown area, see a variety of new designer shops, art galleries and historic landmarks including The Essex Street Market, The Tenement Museum, Streit’s Matzoh Factory and more.
Tasting stops vary by day of the week, but can include: authentic Neapolitan pizza, bialys, pickles, knishes, Greek spinach pie and souvlaki, decadent hot chocolate, gourmet chocolates and donuts.
Availability: Wed., Fri., Sat., Sun. 11 a.m., Thurs. 6 p.m.
Location: Tour begins at the NE Corner of Essex & Delancey Streets and ends nearby.
FLAVORS OF NEW YORK TOUR – 2.6 hours, .6 miles, easy walking.
Learn about, taste and enjoy the historic East Village. Home to students from New York University, this neighborhood is known for its rich culture – from art and fashion to music and politics. Visit important landmarks ranging from St. Mark’s Church on the Bowery to Cooper Union to old Yiddish theaters and famous 20th Century concert venues. Tasting stops vary by day of the week, but can include: authentic NY pizza and hot dogs, homemade Ukrainian pierogies and soup, deli sandwiches, egg creams, Chinese dumplings, locally made cookies and ice cream.

Location: Tour begins at the Black Cube Sculpture at Astor Place (4th Ave. & E. 8th St.) & ends near E. 14th St. & 2nd Ave.
NOLITA: EAT A BITE OF ETHNIC NY - 2 hours, .5 miles, easy walking
Learn about, taste and enjoy this eclectic neighborhood adjacent to Little Italy. Home to the Italian immigrants who came to America at the end of the 19th century, you’ll visit important landmarks including the oldest pizzeria in the U.S., the old police headquarters and Di Palo Fine Foods. Learn about mafia history, see designer shops and taste a global array of foods. Tasting stops vary, but can include: Italian cheeses and meats, Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches, savory French quiche, Mexican yucca fries, Spanish tapas, handmade candy and NY style cheesecake.

Location: Tour begins outside 210 Lafayette St. (at Kenmare St. south of Spring St.) and ends nearby.

Getting There
Take the Hudson, Harlem or New Haven Line to Grand Central Terminal. Depending on which tour you are taking, you will need to take the subway from Grand Central. Visit www.mta.info/schedules to determine your subway stop for the tour you will be taking.
