Hudson River Valley Ramble

Take Metro-North to the 13th Annual Hudson River Valley Ramble
September 8-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30

Presented by the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and Hudson River Valley Greenway- An event series celebrating the history, culture and natural resources of the Hudson River Valley.


Guided hikes, walks, paddles, bike rides, historic site tours, festivals, and much more! Many Ramble events are easily accessible by Metro-North including:






Ramble Through, Around, and From the Madam Brett Homestead
September 8: 10 AM - 4 PM
Hudson Line to Beacon Station
Take a guided tour through the Madam Brett Homestead built in 1709, with 17 rooms of collections from seven generations of descendants, and ramble around outside in the garden and woods.

Sail on the Woody Guthrie
September 9: noon
Hudson Line to Beacon Station
Ride the waves of the Hudson River on the 46-foot Woody Guthrie under full sail with the Beacon Sloop Club, a non-profit volunteer membership environmental organization. One hour sail, first come-first served.

The Lyndhurst Landscape Ramble

Take a complimentary guided tour of the magnificent grounds including an award-winning rose garden, a fern garden, rock garden, specimen trees, the now-aged lindens for which the property was named, and spectacular views of the Hudson River.

This educational and enlightening walk will reveal a brilliant history which includes Alexander Hamilton and George Washington, on the very grounds where founding principals were created, Denning's Point.

Riverfront Exploration

Hudson Line to Philipse Manor Station
Educators from Scenic Hudson, Beczak Environmental Education Center and Teatown Lake Reservation will be on hand with fun activities from including seining in the river, creating art from nature, going on a scavenger hunt, and learning about the history of the Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center and the Kingsland Point Lighthouse.

One River, Many Streams Folk Festival
