With more than a dozen changing exhibitions a year of art and science as well as permanent exhibition galleries geared for the entire family to enjoy, the Bruce Museum lives up to its name as the jewel of Greenwich, Connecticut. There is always something new to see at the Bruce Museum, which is conveniently located near Metro-North's Greenwich Station and a short block from shopping and dining excellence on famous Greenwich Avenue.

During 2008, the Museum will present a diverse selection of exhibitions, all certain to enlighten you. From “Robotics” to “Phenomenal Weather” and “Climate Change,” a world of discovery and fascination awaits the entire family. The Museum’s major summer exhibition featuresPaintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker, the long-awaited works of European Old Masters that have been recently restituted following their seizure during World War II. Art aficionados will also enjoy the fall showing of Paris Portraits: Artists, Friends and Lovers.” Be sure to make a return visit for the winter holiday season 2008-09, when miniature stage sets, paisley shawls, and dinosaurs will be on view.

The Bruce Museum also presents an annual Outdoor Crafts Festival every spring on the weekend before Memorial Day, and it hosts an Outdoor Arts Festival every Columbus Day weekend. These award-winning juried events feature artisans from across the country whose works are available for purchase. In the permanent galleries, this gem of a museum in Fairfield County offers ongoing displays of world-class minerals, formations of the land, Native American artifacts, a marine touch tank, and a life-size woodland diorama.

The Museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is FREE on Tuesdays, therefore you need only purchase your rail ticket that day. For the latest events and exhibition information, call 203-869-6786 or visit www.brucemuseum.org.

Travel Information: Take the New Haven Line to Greenwich Station. When you get off the train, make a left and continue down the driveway to Steamboat Road. Make a right onto Steamboat Road. Continue walking on Steamboat Road, through the I-95 underpass (approximately 100 yards). The stairway to the museum is on the left, just after the Thruway overpass.
