Dutchess County FiarThe Dutchess County Fair in historic Rhinebeck, NY is the largest six-day county fair in the state and one of the finest agricultural showplaces in the entire country.

Come visit the 160-acre fairgrounds nestled in the quaint and picturesque Hudson Valley.  In addition to hundreds of farm animals there are musical entertainers, professional horticultural displays, an antiques village museum and one-room schoolhouse, petting zoos, dozens of interactive activities for children, and one of America’s premier traveling carnivals.

Stroll past hundreds of vendors and arts and crafts dealers.  Watch baby pigs race and purebred Percheron horses pull an old-fashioned circus calliope.  Witness live cooking shows; see talented wood carvers, quilters, and other artisans.  Eat all of your favorite fair foods or stop in to one of Rhinebeck’s many outstanding restaurants before returning home.

To get from Metro-North’s Poughkeepsie Station to and from the Fair, you will have to take the connecting Dutchess Loop shuttle bus.  When you board the bus, you must purchase an all-day boarding pass, good for rides on and off the bus all day.  (This pass IS NOT included in the package price).  The bus ride from the Poughkeepsie Station to the Fair is approximately one hour.

Dutchess Loop All-Day Boarding Pass: adults, $3; seniors and students with ID, $1.50; children 5-11, $1.50; children under 5, FREE.  Please note:  You must have exact change when you purchase your bus pass.

WHERE TO PURCHASE YOUR PACKAGE: Grand Central Terminal or any Metro-North station with a ticketoffice (except Poughkeepsie Station), at all full-service Ticket Machines (except Poughkeepsie Station), or through WebTicket.

TRAVEL INFORMATION: Take the Hudson Line to Poughkeepsie Station. When you get off the train, follow the signs to the bus area and look for the "LOOP" bus stop". When you board, make sure to purchase your all-day boarding bus pass.
