Celebrate our region's diverse heritage with a day that takes you from Hudson Valley farms and orchards to the renaissance city of Beacon.

Your day starts at Barton Orchards, where you'll pick your own fruits and vegetables, and enjoy hayrides, a petting zoo, and other family activities. Explore the larger-than-life corn maze (if you dare!), and check out the 214 year-old white oak tree at the center of this 122 acre orchard.

Next stop: Fishkill Farms, with pick-your own fruit orchards, a bakery, and a farm market with free-range chickens, berries, homegrown vegetables, and other organic delicacies.

End your day with a visit to Main Street Beacon, home to a thriving arts movement. Tour the many galleries, eateries, and specialty stores, including the Hudson Beach Glass studio, located in a historic 1890 firehouse.

The Farm Fresh shuttle will transport you to the various locations and bring you back to Beacon Station for the trip home. Reservations for the Farm Fresh shuttle are required at least 48 hours in advance by calling 800-382-3818. Once you've made your reservation, purchase your rail and shuttle ticket at any Metro-North station with a ticket office, at all full-service Ticket Machines (except Beacon Station), or through WebTicket.

Getting there

Take the Hudson Line to Beacon Station. The bus will meet the train departing Grand Central Terminal at 8:47 a.m., arriving Beacon Station at 10:10 a.m. When you get to Beacon Station, your "Farm Fresh" bus will be waiting on the land-side of the station. Check here for an ITINERARY
