BIKE NEW YORK: The Great Five Boro Bike Tour (Sunday, May 2, 2004)
Bike the Big Apple Bike New York Inc., in association with the City of New York, the New York City Department of Transportation, and NYC2012, the non-profit committee leading New York's bid to host the Olympic Games in 2012, presents BIKE NEW YORK: The Great Five Boro Bike Tour on Sunday, May 2, 2004.
This year all riders in the Tour will be given the opportunity to "Ride for NYC2012." Riders can help make New York's Olympic dream a reality by choosing to raise funds to support New York's Olympic Bid through their ride.
The Tour will pass proposed Olympic venue sites in all five boroughs where parks and sports facilities will be restored as part of the lasting legacy the Olympic Games would provide. Olympians will be present to cheer participants on at rest areas and riders will have the opportunity to meet Olympians at the Tour-ending Festival and participate in demonstrations of Olympic sports.
For a registration brochure and further information please call the BIKE NEW YORK TOUR LINE at 212-932-BIKE or visit www.bikenewyork.org. Metro-North will suspend the need for a bicycle permit and will suspend the per train bicycle limit on this day.
