  • Memorial Day Holiday Service Friday, May 24 - Monday, May 27
  • On Friday, May 24, to help you get a jump on Memorial Day Weekend, the “unofficial" start of summer, Metro-North offers plenty of extra early getaway service (see below).

    On Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26, regular Saturday and Sunday schedules will be in effect.

    On Memorial Day (Monday, May 27), trains will operate a Sunday schedule with one extra inbound (to Grand Central) train. This train will depart New Haven at 7:47 PM and make local stops to Fairfield, then Westport, before going express to GCT.

    Most connecting services will not operate on Monday, May 27. However, the Tappan Zee Express will operate on a Saturday schedule.

    Friday, May 24 Getaway Service

    On the Hudson Line:

    Extra "getaway" trains will depart from Grand Central at:

    • 1:41 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.
    • 1:45 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining and Croton-Harmon.
    • 1:48 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stops between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie.
    • 2:41 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.
    • 2:45 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining and Croton-Harmon.
    • 2:48 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stops between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie.
    • 3:12 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining and Croton-Harmon. 
    • 3:46 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street and Croton-Harmon.
    • 4:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, and Beacon, New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie.

    The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate:

    • The 5:29 PM train to Poughkeepsie will not operate.
    • The 5:57 PM to Croton-Harmon will not operate.
    • The 6:12 PM to Poughkeepsie will not operate.
    • The 6:19 PM to Croton-Harmon will not operate.

    Hudson Line Connecting Services:

    The Hudson Rail Link will begin a peak level of buses at Spuyten Duyvil starting with the 2:20 PM train from Grand Central, and at Riverdale starting with the 3:20 PM train from Grand Central.

    The Haverstraw – Ossining Ferry will have an early ferry trip that will meet the 2:51 PM train from Grand Central, which arrives Ossining at 3:48 PM. Since the 5:57 PM and 6:19 PM trains will not operate, a 6 PM train from Grand Central, which arrives Ossining at 6:50 PM, will be met by the ferry.

    The Newburgh – Beacon Ferry will have three early trips, meeting the 2:48 PM, the 3:18 PM and 3:50 PM trains from Grand Central. 

    On the Harlem Line:

    Extra "getaway" trains will depart from Grand Central at:

    • 2:18 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Scarsdale and North White Plains.
    • 3:14 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then White Plains and North White Plains only.
    • 3:37 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, White Plains, then all stations between Goldens Bridge through Southeast.

    The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate:

    • The 5:25 PM to Brewster will not operate.
    • The 7 PM to North White Plains will not operate.

     On the New Haven Line:

    Extra "getaway" trains will depart from Grand Central at:

    • 12:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
    • 1:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
    • 1:59 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford, then all stations to South Norwalk.
    • 2:04 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport then all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
    • 2:28 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison.
    • 2:31 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield then all stops between Fairfield and New Haven.
    • 2:57 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between Stamford and South Norwalk.
    • 3:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
    • 3:23 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford, Westport and all stations between Fairfield and New Haven.
    • 3:27 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, then all stations between New Rochelle and Harrison.
    • 4:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Stamford and all stations between Bridgeport and New Haven.

    The following trains usually departing Grand Central will not operate or are combined:

    • The 5:17 PM to Harrison and the 5:20 PM to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 5:20 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street and all stations between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.
    • The 5:36 PM to Harrison will not operate.
    • The 5:59 PM to Harrison and 6:02 PM to New Rochelle are combined, departing Grand Central at 6:02 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, and all stops between Mount Vernon East and Harrison.
    • The 6:11 PM to New Haven will also stop at South Norwalk and Westport.
    • The 6:17 PM to Bridgeport will not operate.
    • The 6:38 PM to Harrison will not operate.
    • The 7:11 PM to Harrison will not operate.
    • The 8:04 PM to New Haven will not operate.

  • Wassaic Branch Substitute Busing Temporarily Suspended Fri., May 24 - Mon., May 27
  • Wassaic Branch Substitute Bus Service will be temporarily suspended for the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.

    Regular scheduled train service will resume Friday, May 24 beginning with the northbound 3:21 PM train from Southeast to Wassaic and the southbound 4:21 PM train from Wassaic to Southeast.

    Regular weekend train service will run Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.

    Regular holiday train service will run on Memeorial Day, Monday, May 27.

    On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, substitute busing resumes.

  • Waterbury Branch Busing Sat. May 18 & Sun. May 19
  • To accommodate necessary track work, bus service will replace train service between Waterbury and Bridgeport the weekend of May 18-19. Bus service will follow the April 7 train schedule. Train service will resume on Monday, May 20. We regret any inconvenience you may experience due to this service change.

  • Wassaic Branch Busing Begins Sunday, April 7
  • Beginning April 7, buses will replace Wassaic Branch train service between 9 AM and 5 PM on weekdays, and between 8 AM and 3 PM on Sundays through June 2 for rock slope remediation . Buses operate in advance of train schedules. The bus schedule is included in the April 7 timetable. See details.

  • The MTA mobile device address has changed to m.mta.info If you previously bookmarked mta.info (Train Time, Schedules, Fares, Service Status, etc.), it is no longer valid.

    Please bookmark the new mobile device address. This "change in address" will let us offer customers more "on the go" service information in the near future.

  • Occasional Noise & Vibrations Associated With East Side Access
  • Occasional noise and vibrations you may experience as you pass through Grand Central Terminal are the result of ongoing work associated with the construction of rail tunnels for the East Side Access Project.  When completed, East Side Access will allow Long Island Rail Road trains to access Grand Central Terminal.
