The MTA network will operate a regular weekday schedule for Monday, February 2nd, 2015. MTA Long Island Railroad, MTA Metro-North Railroad, MTA NYC Transit Bus, MTA NYC Subway -- including Staten Island Railway (SIR) -- MTA Bus and Access-a-Ride will provide the normal complement of rush hour service. All nine MTA Bridge & Tunnel facilities will be open to traffic. Due to the forecast for inclement weather, there may be delays in service.

Beginning at 5:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, A Line customers will once again have access to the Manhattan-bound sides of the 104 St and 88 St stations along the Liberty Avenue Line in Queens. The five-month station renewal project is part of a major $39 million capital project that will see the complete renewal of five stations along the Liberty Avenue A Line.

Customers and community residents can learn all they want to know about the LIRR’s proposal for enlarging its train yard in Ronkonkoma. On Thursday, the Long Island Rail Road opened the Mid-Suffolk Train Yard Information Center at Ronkonkoma Station.

On Wednesday, January 28, the Long Island Rail Road expects to run normal weekday service on the Babylon, Far Rockaway, Hempstead, Long Beach, Oyster Bay, Port Washington, Huntington/Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and West Hempstead Branches. In addition, normal weekday service will be provided between Speonk and Babylon. There will be no morning rush hour service between Montauk and Speonk, or between Greenport and Ronkonkoma, where the snowdrifts are highest. LIRR personnel will continue their snow fighting efforts to restore service there as quickly as possible.

With a wintry blast that may dump as much as 7 inches of snow in parts of the metropolitan region, the MTA is hard at work to ensure safe, reliable service this weekend. MTA New York City Transit, Metro-North Railroad, Long Island Rail Road, and MTA Bridges and Tunnels are once again preparing. Personnel will be ready to drop salt and clear platforms and stairs of snow but customers are urged to use extreme caution while navigating the system.
