MTA Metro-North Railroad has restored all service to and from Grand Central Terminal after an explosion and building collapse next to Metro-North’s tracks running above Park Avenue. New Haven and Harlem line service was restored earlier in the afternoon, and Hudson Line service was restored as additional tracks reopened.

For four consecutive weeknights from Monday, March 10, to early Friday morning, March 14, B D F M trains will not stop at the following 6 Av stations: 14 St, 23 St, 34 St-Herald Sq, 42 St-Bryant Pk, 47-50 Sts, and 57 St. D and F trains are rerouted on the 8 Av ACE line. At this point, the workers are focusing largely on the demolition of concrete walls and the removal of the debris. To date, however, an impressive amount of work has been accomplished in what is nearly a complete rebuild of the tube after the ravages of Super Storm Sandy.

Drivers entering the Brooklyn-bound Verrazano-Narrows Bridge from Father Capodanno Boulevard will be using a temporary ramp for the next several months while the original ramp is reconstructed under the $50 million project to improve traffic flow on the bridge’s ramps and approach roadways. The temporary ramp opened on Thursday evening, Feb. 20. The only real change drivers will notice is a slight shift to the right to enter the temporary ramp, which will have the same two-lane configuration as the original ramp.

After a winter hiatus for holiday traffic and multiple winter snow storms, work has resumed on the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge Queens approach $109 million reconstruction and rehabilitation project. A new traffic pattern went into effect on Thurs., Feb. 20 as rehabilitation work continues on the far left lane on the southbound side of the approach roadway. Motorists will be shifted around the work zone and a movable barrier will once again be in place to maximize lane capacity during peak drive times.

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that effective immediately, customers who ride the Danbury Branch will be able to present their tickets for travel on Harlem Line trains while the railroad works to correct problems with the Danbury Branch’s newly installed computerized train detection system that controls the grade crossings.
