With the 254th St. Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, Metro-North will ban alcohol to maintain orderly train service and is planning to run up to six extra inbound trains to help accommodate revelers heading to the parade. Going home, one extra train will run on the Hudson Line.
MTA Long Island Rail Road has scheduled 16 extra trains – six westbound morning trains and 10 eastbound afternoon trains to accommodate thousands of LIRR customers who will be traveling to and from the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Manhattan on Monday, March 17.
The Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad will operate extra trains to help those traveling to New York City for the 254th St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday, March 17.

MTA Capital Construction has a new exhibit at the Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center (CIC). Entitled “Above and Below: Designing the Second Avenue Subway,” the exhibit gives visitors a look at what they will experience when the Second Avenue Subway opens to the public in December, 2016.
For the first time, MTA New York City Transit brings FASTRACK to the [2][3] lines in Harlem and the Bronx for two consecutive weeks. Beginning Monday, March 16, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., for four consecutive weeknights, and from Monday, March 23, to early morning Friday, March 27, [2] trains are suspended between 3 Av-149 St and 96 St. [3] service is entirely suspended.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels said Friday the next phase of construction work in the $235.7 million Verrazano-Narrows Bridge upper level deck replacement project is set to begin with the demolition of the original 1960s-era roadway and installation of a lighter-weight, longer-lasting steel orthotropic deck. A new seventh roadway lane, which will be used as a Bus/HOV lane, will also be constructed.
