Metro-North Railroad has expanded Ride2Drive, a program that makes Zipcars available at select Metro-North stations, to four more East of Hudson stations and two West of Hudson stations. Metro-North customers who join Zipcar, can now access a total of 26 vehicles at 15 Metro-North stations. With the expansion of the Ride2Drive program, Metro-North offers new Hudson Valley getaway packages, all within easy reach from select stations via Zipcar.

Earlier this summer, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced plans for the historic multi-billion dollar transformation of LIRR infrastructure, including the Main Line Third Track, Double Track, Jamaica Station Reconstruction, 39 renovated Long Island Rail Road stations and the elimination of grade crossing. Taken together, the upgrades will help modernize transportation across the region and provide a state-of-the-art rail system for Long Islanders.
Commuters at the Hicksville LIRR station have a brand new platform, complete with modern, state-of-the-art upgrades as part of a $121 million modernization of the Main Line hub in Nassau County.
MTA New York City Transit has opened the new 53 Street station in Sunset Park, Brooklyn ahead of schedule. Completed in less than six months, the new station is the first of 33 to undergo extensive, accelerated renovations as part of a broader program aimed at improving the New York City Transit system.
Due to Hurricane Irma, which is expected to sweep through Florida this weekend, three games between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays that were scheduled to be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, have been moved to Citi Field on Sept. 11, 12 and 13. As with all baseball games at Citi Field, the LIRR is ready to provide convenient train service to and from every game. The trip from Penn Station is just 15 minutes, and fans coming from Long Island can take any branch to Woodside to change to a five-minute ride to the stadium.
