LIRR customers are advised to anticipate delays and cancellations during tonight’s rush hour, Wednesday, September 16. The LIRR is continuing to operate on only one of two tracks between Westbury and Hicksville due to the New York & Atlantic Railway freight derailment west of Hicksville on Tuesday afternoon.
LIRR personnel will be out in force at the site of yesterday’s freight train derailment between Hicksville and Westbury to re-rail the derailed freight cars and repair and rebuild sections of hundreds of feet of track that were damaged by the derailment. To accelerate their work, with a goal of restoring full train service for today’s evening rush hour, the LIRR is suspending train service in both directions between Hicksville and Mineola in both directions today starting at 10:30 a.m.

LIRR customers are advised to anticipate delays and cancellations during the morning rush hour today, Wednesday, September 16. The LIRR is continuing to operate on only one of two tracks between Westbury and Hicksville due to the New York & Atlantic Railway freight derailment west of Hicksville on Tuesday afternoon.
Because of a freight train that derailed west of Hicksville Station this afternoon, the Long Island Rail Road is advising customers to anticipate delays and cancelations during today’s P.M. rush hour.
Limited LIRR Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson service is restored in both directions via 1 of 2 tracks thru Hicksville. Service was suspended due to a freight derailment.

As a result of last night's derailment north of the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts station, there will be limited G service between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Court Sq and extremely limited G service between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Fulton St. Trains are running in both directions on the Queens-bound track only. Customers can use the B38 bus on DeKalb Av (southbound) and Lafayette Av (northbound) as an alternative. Free transfers will be available from Fulton St on the G Line to Lafayette Av on the C Line as well as from Broadway on the G to Lorimer St on the J/M/Z Lines. There is no G service between Fulton St and Church Av. From Church Av, customers should take the F.
