The MTA is moving forward with the installation of video cameras on trains. Following up a recommendation by the National Transportation Safety Board, Metro-North Railroad, on behalf of itself and Long Island Rail Road, intends to move forward on a plan to install outward- and inward-facing video and audio recorders.

It's been three months since the release of the MTA’s official apps for railroad customers and since that time about four out of ten riders have downloaded the apps, based on ridership statistics. In fact, 120,000 people now have LIRR Train Time™ and Metro-North Train Time™ apps for iPhone and Android.

For four consecutive weeknights from Monday, March 10, to early Friday morning, March 14, B D F M trains will not stop at the following 6 Av stations: 14 St, 23 St, 34 St-Herald Sq, 42 St-Bryant Pk, 47-50 Sts, and 57 St. D and F trains are rerouted on the 8 Av ACE line. B and M service ends early in Manhattan each night.

At this point, the workers are focusing largely on the demolition of concrete walls and the removal of the debris.
