MTA Long Island Rail Road and MTA Metro-North Railroad have each unveiled a formal "Pledge to Customers" promising to provide safe and reliable service and putting it in writing for the first time.
The MTA has purchased 30 new MV-1 vans for use by the Paratransit Division in order to determine their suitability as replacement vehicles for older Access-A-Ride vans.
MTA Metro-North Railroad provided 82 million rides last year, up 1.4% over 2010, with ridership gains on all lines and in all markets from traditional AM inbound commutation to discretionary trips such as nights, weekends, middays and holidays.
The MTA has posted an informative public service announcement produced by the NYPD, warning customers to "Stay Alert" and safeguard their personal electronic devices when riding the subway.
