Cathy Grier has been called gutsy and a musician with a voice, performing a folk-ed up blues style. Cathy's solo funky rhythmic guitar accompanies an amazing voice that ranges from sweet and haunting to edgy and lyrical. Performances with Music Under New York, are heartfelt. She loves the energy and vitality of the city and riffs off the commuters who inspire exciting spontaneous moments. Selected as one of New York's finest subway performers, she performed at Avery Fisher Hall and Radio City Music Hall and was featured on a CBS Sunday Morning segment and in numerous documentary films about subway performers. In a career that has spanned more than 20 years, Cathy Grier has taken her performances and songwriting to many countries. She believes music is a powerful tool that crosses the boundaries of ignorance and hate.
