Henry Hudson Bridge Early Morning Lower Level Closures Nov. 19 - 23, 2019

As part of the ongoing work to rehabilitate the lower level roadway of the Henry Hudson Bridge, overnight (technically early morning) lower level full closures will be necessary on Tuesday, Nov. 19 through Saturday, Nov. 23. The southbound (to Manhattan) closures will start at 12:01 a.m. and go through to 5:00 a.m. A detour will be in place to route drivers around these closures.

RFK Bridge Harlem River Lift Span Full Closures for Scheduled Testing

Full closures of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River Lift Span are scheduled during weekday early morning hours from Tuesday, November 5, through Friday morning November 22, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. for testing of the lifting mechanism of the bridge. There will be no closures on weekends.

Signage will be in place to guide motorists to the detour, but motorists should allow for additional travel time or consider an alternate route.

Traffic to Be Diverted at Three MTA Crossings Sunday for Bike MS 2019

The Bike MS 2019 event on Sunday, Oct. 20, will impact motorists who normally use the MTA’s Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Although the race will not result in the closure of any bridge or tunnel, several exit and entrance ramps will be impacted.

Motorists should be aware of the closures and use alternate routes if possible.

Henry Hudson Bridge

7 a.m. to Noon: There will be no access to the southbound Henry Hudson Bridge heading into Manhattan.

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel Closed Sunday, Sept. 29, for the Annual Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Run

There will be a full closure of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 7:45 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. for the 18th annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run, commemorating the FDNY firefighter’s run through the tunnel to the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Event preparations will take place overnight, with one tube of the tunnel closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, through 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. One lane will remain open in each direction in the remaining tube during this time.

The southbound (to Manhattan) closure will start at 12:01 a.m. and go through to 5:00 a.m. A detour will be in place to route drivers around this closure.

Marine Parkway Bridge Closed Overnight: Sept. 16, 17, 18

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions during overnight hours on Monday, Sept. 16, Tuesday, Sept. 17, and--if necessary—Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019. All traffic will be detoured to the Cross-Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m., including the Q35 bus. The closures are needed to perform necessary mechanical maintenance work on the lift span on the bridge. Schedule is as follows:

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-bound Lane Closures: Fri. 7/26-Sat. 7/27 to Complete Plaza Roadway Restoration Ahead of Schedule

To accommodate the transition of the northbound lanes back to the permanent alignment following roadway restoration work, up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge. Work will begin Friday night, July 26, at 10:00 p.m. and last until 6:00 p.m., Saturday July 27. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. The roadway realignment and restoration completes the process of converting the Throgs Neck Bridge to Open Road Tolling. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected, as that work was completed last week.

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Fri. 7/12-Mon. 7/15

Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, July 12 through Monday morning, July 15, 2019. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected.

Weekend work requires the following lane closures:
• One Bronx-bound lane will be closed around-the clock, from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
• A second Bronx-bound lane will be closed on Friday and Saturday nights, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and on Sunday into Monday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
