Marine Parkway Bridge Closed Overnight on Weekdays Nov. 5 – 17

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions during overnight hours on weekdays from Monday, November 5, through Saturday morning, November 17. There will be no closures on Saturday or Sunday nights. During this time, all traffic will be detoured to the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., including the Q35 bus. The closures are necessary for upgrade work on the lift mechanism. Schedule is as follows:

One Lane Closed on the Bronx to Manhattan Ramp of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge

Starting Friday, October 26th at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, one lane will be closed on the RFK Bronx to Manhattan ramp to accommodate a roadway deck replacement project on the former toll plaza area.

The rehabilitation work will take place over three stages and will include the removal and replacement of selected areas of the roadway deck and the replacement of existing roadway joints. This project is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2020 and will create a smoother riding surface for motorists.

Traffic Diverted at Three MTA Crossings Sunday for Bike MS 2018

The Bike MS 2018 event on Sunday, October 21st will impact motorists who normally use the MTA’s Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Although the race will not result in the closure of any bridge or tunnel, several exit and entrance ramps will be impacted.

Motorists should be aware of the closures and use alternate routes if possible.

Henry Hudson Bridge

7 a.m. to Noon: There will be no access to the southbound Henry Hudson Bridge heading into Manhattan.

Governor Cuomo Signs Legislation to Correct the Spelling of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today signed legislation (S.9089/A.2963-B) to correct the spelling of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, named after the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, connects the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The name of this bridge has been spelled incorrectly for several decades, and this legislation will correct the spelling of the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge in a number of respective state statutes by adding the missing "z" to the name.

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Fri. 9/28-Mon. 10/1

Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, September 28th through Monday morning, October 1st, 2018. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected by this work.

Verrazano Bridge Belt Parkway Ramps Closed Nightly 11 pm–5 am For Repaving Work 10/1 – 10/4 and 10/8 – 10/11

The Belt Parkway ramps leading to both Brooklyn and Staten Island at the Verrazano–Narrows Bridge will be closed nightly from 11 pm to 5 am, beginning Brooklyn-bound from Monday, Oct. 1 through Thursday morning, Oct. 4, and then Staten Island-bound from Monday, Oct. 8 through Thursday morning, Oct. 11, for necessary repaving work. Both ramps will be opened to traffic during daytime hours, and there will be no full ramp closures on Friday through Sunday nights.

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel Closed Sunday, Sept. 30 for the Annual Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Run

There will be a full closure of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel on Sunday, September 30 from 7:45 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. for the 17th annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run, commemorating the FDNY firefighter’s run through the tunnel to the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Event preparations will take place overnight, with one tube of the tunnel closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, September 29 through 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 30. One lane will remain open in each direction in the remaining tube during this time.

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Fri. 9/14-Mon. 9/17

Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, September 14th through Monday morning, September 17th, 2018. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected by this work.

Weekend work requires the following lane closures:

• One Bronx-bound lane will be closed around-the clock, from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.

• A second Bronx-bound lane will be closed on Friday and Saturday nights, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and on Sunday into Monday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
