Marine Parkway Bridge Closed Overnight: Sept. 16, 17, 18

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions during overnight hours on Monday, Sept. 16, Tuesday, Sept. 17, and--if necessary—Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019. All traffic will be detoured to the Cross-Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m., including the Q35 bus. The closures are needed to perform necessary mechanical maintenance work on the lift span on the bridge. Schedule is as follows:

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-bound Lane Closures: Fri. 7/26-Sat. 7/27 to Complete Plaza Roadway Restoration Ahead of Schedule

To accommodate the transition of the northbound lanes back to the permanent alignment following roadway restoration work, up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge. Work will begin Friday night, July 26, at 10:00 p.m. and last until 6:00 p.m., Saturday July 27. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. The roadway realignment and restoration completes the process of converting the Throgs Neck Bridge to Open Road Tolling. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected, as that work was completed last week.

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Fri. 7/12-Mon. 7/15

Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, July 12 through Monday morning, July 15, 2019. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected.

Weekend work requires the following lane closures:
• One Bronx-bound lane will be closed around-the clock, from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
• A second Bronx-bound lane will be closed on Friday and Saturday nights, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and on Sunday into Monday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Henry Hudson Bridge Overnight Lower Level Closures Starting June 4, 2019

As part of the ongoing work to rehabilitate the lower level roadway of the Henry Hudson Bridge, overnight (technically early morning) lower level full closures will be necessary to accommodate a large installation project. Southbound (to Manhattan) closures will start at 12:01 a.m. June 4 and take place nightly from 12:01 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., through early morning June 14. There will be no closures on Sunday nights and there will be no impact to the northbound roadway. A detour will be in place to route drivers around this closure.

RFK Bridge Harlem River Lift Span Full Closure for Scheduled Testing

A full closure of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River Lift Span is scheduled on Friday, May 17, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. for testing of the lifting mechanism of the bridge.

Signage will be in place to guide motorists to the detour, but motorists should allow for additional travel time or consider an alternate route.

Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge Staten Island-bound Lower Level Closure for Annual Five Boro Bike Tour

The Staten Island-bound lower level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge will be closed from 12:01 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, May 5 for the annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour. The upper level of the bridge will remain open in both directions throughout the event.

Marine Parkway Bridge Closed Overnight: April 22- May 1

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions during overnight hours from Monday, April 22, through Wednesday morning, May 1. There will be no closures on Saturday or Sunday nights. During this time, all traffic will be detoured to the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., including the Q35 bus. The closures are needed to dismantle and remove protective shielding that was in place for the lift upgrade work, and to perform necessary mechanical maintenance work on the bridge. The MTA’s Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBTA) has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for the Central Business District Tolling Program. This request is an invitation to all firms to officially express their interest with TBTA, and indicate their willingness to respond to a future Request for Proposal (RFP).
