GOVERNOR CUOMO ANNOUNCES HUGH L. CAREY TUNNEL OPENS ADDITIONAL LANE FOR CAR TRAFFIC AT 4PM TODAY

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the Gov. Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, formerly known as the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, will reopen for cars traveling in peak directions during rush hours at 4 p.m. today.

Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Closed for ING NYC Marathon Sun., Nov. 4

The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, Nov. 4th between 7 a.m. and approximately 3 p.m. for the ING New York City Marathon. Motorists traveling to Brooklyn or Staten Island via the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge must use alternate routes.

REMINDER: One Tube At Queens Midtown Tunnel Closed This Weekend

The Queens-bound tube at the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed to traffic this weekend beginning 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26th through 2 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29th for necessary roadway repair and repaving work.

Two-way traffic will be in effect in the remaining tube for cars and NYCT buses. Commercial traffic must use an alternate route while two-way traffic is in effect.

There will be intermittent, 15-minute full bridge closures at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge's Harlem River lift span on Fri., Oct. 26th between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. for scheduled maintenance.

Motorists may experience delays and should use an alternate route.

Two-way operation in effect in other tube

One tube at the Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn-Battery) Tunnel will be closed on Monday, Oct. 22nd between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a scheduled event.

One lane in each direction will be open in the remaining tube. Motorists should use an alternate route if possible.

Bike MS 2012 Event Sun., Oct. 21st Means Traffic Diversions

The Bike MS 2012 event on Sunday, Oct. 21st will impact motorists who normally use the MTA's Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn-Battery) Tunnel. Motorists should be aware of the closures and use alternate routes if possible.

Henry Hudson Bridge
7 a.m. to Noon: The Henry Hudson Parkway from Mosholu Parkway to the bridge and Dyckman Street south to Battery Park via the West Side Highway will be closed and drivers will not be able to access the bridge.

The Queens Midtown Tunnel tube leading into Manhattan will be closed to traffic beginning 11 p.m. Friday, October 19th through 2 a.m. Monday, October 22nd while necessary construction and rehabilitation work is performed.

One Queens-bound Lane At Throgs Neck Bridge Closed Two To Three Weeks Around The Clock

The center lane of the Queens-bound Throgs Neck Bridge will be closed around the clock for approximately two to three weeks beginning 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 nd so 3,000-feet of roadway asphalt can be replaced before the start of the holiday season.

Cashless Tolling At The Henry Hudson Bridge Begins In November

Cashless tolling is coming to the Henry Hudson Bridge toll plaza in early November as the second phase of the all-electronic tolling pilot gets underway, the MTA announced Monday.

Motorists will be able to use any lane to drive through the toll plaza without stopping. The switch to cashless tolling will take place beginning 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 th .
