One Tube At Queens Midtown Tunnel Closed This Weekend

The Queens-bound tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed to traffic this weekend beginning 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26th through 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28th for repairs related to Superstorm Sandy.

Two-way traffic will be in effect in the remaining tube for cars and NYCT buses. Commercial traffic must use an alternate route while two-way traffic is in effect.

The Queens-bound tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed to traffic this weekend beginning 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12th through 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14th while additional repairs are made to the lighting system, which was damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

Two-way traffic will be in effect in the remaining tube for cars and NYCT buses. Commercial traffic must use an alternate route while two-way traffic is in effect.

Reminder/Correction: Bronx-Whitestone Bridge's 3rd Avenue Exit Closing Jan. 7th

The 3rd Avenue exit, the last exit in Queens before entering onto the Bronx-bound Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, Jan. 7th as part of a $109 million reconstruction of the bridge’s Queens approach.

Separate car and truck detours will be in place while the northbound 3rd Avenue exit ramp is closed. Signs will be in place and traffic agents will be on hand when the detours begin in January.
The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately two years.

Intermittent Closures At Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem Lift Span Friday Dec. 28th Between 1 AM and 5 AM

There will be intermittent, full closures lasting approximately 15-minutes at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River lift span on Fri., Dec. 28th between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. for scheduled maintenance.

Carey (formerly Brooklyn-Battery) Tunnel will be closed for post-Sandy repair work Saturday, Dec. 8th and Sunday, Dec. 9th between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. One lane will be available in each direction in the remaining tube.
