Motorists Love The Convenience Of Buying E-ZPass On-the-Go Tags

With the final addition of the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial and Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridges, motorists can now pick up E-ZPass On-the-Go tags in the cash lanes at all nine MTA crossings. The ease and convenience of buying an On-the-Go tag this way has been so popular with customers that more than 28,000 have been sold since it was introduced last June.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY Up To Three Traffic Lanes Closed At Brooklyn-bound Verrazano-Narrows Sat., April 14th  Between 12:01 A.M. And 7 A.M.

Two or three lanes will be closed to traffic from the Lily Pond exit on the Staten Island Expressway through the Brooklyn-bound Verrazano-Narrows toll plaza Sat., April 14th between 12:01 a.m. and 7 a.m. while a new traffic pattern is implemented.

The lane shift is good news for drivers who will now have a straight drive from the Staten Island Expressway through the Brooklyn-bound toll plaza where the 11 unused toll booths once stood. Drivers are reminded that it is still a construction zone and 25 mph speed limits remain in effect.

Rockaway Resident Toll Rebate Program Reinstated Effective Immediately Thanks To State Funding

The MTA announced today (Wednesday) that all tolls for eligible residents using the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge will once again be fully rebated by the MTA thanks to $4 million in funding provided in the State budget.

Special Traffic Advisory One Tube At Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel Closed Next Three Weekends In April

One tube at the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel will be closed for the next three weekends beginning April 13th as part of the $43.5 million project to replace the tunnel's original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables.

The scheduled weekend-long tube closure will take place from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday April 13-16th, April 20-23rd; April 27-30th.

The remaining tube will have one lane heading into Manhattan and one lane into Brooklyn. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route.

Special Traffic Advisory Robert F. Kennedy Bridge's Harlem Lift Span Closed To All Traffic Between 1 AM And 3 AM Fri., April 13th For Necessary Maintenance Work

Motorists are advised that Robert F. Kennedy Bridge's Harlem River Lift Span will be closed to all traffic in both directions between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Friday, April 13th for necessary maintenance work that will take place above the roadway.

Drivers should use the Willis Avenue Bridge as an alternate during this closure.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY Two Lanes Closed On The Queens To Manhattan Ramp At RFK Bridge Beginning 10 A.M. Thurs., April 5th Through 5 A.M. Fri. April 6th

Two of three lanes on the Queens to Manhattan ramp of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge will be closed to traffic beginning 10 a.m. Thurs., April 5th through 5 a.m. on Fri., April 6th while roadway repairs are completed. One lane will remain open.

Motorists are advised that they may experience delays. All work is dependent on good weather.

MTA Statement On Throgs Neck Contractor Accident

Around 8 a.m. this morning, a subcontractor working mid-span at the Throgs Neck Bridge on a work platform below the roadway slipped and fell to the water below. The circumstances around this incident are under investigation by MTA Bridges and Tunnels' Health and Safety division, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), NYPD and the Office of Emergency Management.

TONIGHT'S WORK RESCHEDULED >New Date and Time: Two Lanes Closed In Each Direction At Bronx-Whitestone Bridge Mon., April 2nd To Tues., April 3rd Between 10 PM and 5 AM

Two lanes at the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge heading into the Bronx and two lanes into Queens will be closed to traffic Mon., April 2nd into Tue., April 3rd between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for necessary maintenance work.

One lane will remain open in each direction while the work is completed. Motorists should expect delays and use the Throgs Neck Bridge as an alternate.

This work is being rescheduled from its original dates of Fri., March 30th into Sat., March 31st due to expected rain.

WORK CANCELED Weekend-Long Tube Closure At Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel Set For March 30th

This weekend's planned closure of one tube at the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel from Friday night through Monday morning has been canceled. The work will go on as planned on three consecutive weekends in April.  The work is part of the $43.5 million Capital improvement project to replace the tunnel's original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables.
