Special Traffic Advisory Intermittent Closures At Robert F. Kennedy Bridge's Harlem Lift Span Fri., Nov. 4th Between 12:01 AM And 5 AM

There will be intermittent, 15-minute full bridge closures at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge's Harlem River Lift Span on Fri., Nov. 4th from 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. for scheduled maintenance.

Motorists may experience delays during these closures and should seek alternate routes.

Special Traffic Advisory RFK Bronx-Bound Bronx Approach Roadway Two Lanes Closed Thurs., Nov. 3 and Fri., Nov. 4th Between 10 AM and 3 PM For Concrete Work

As a result of continuing Capital improvement construction work at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, motorists using the Bronx-bound roadway approaching the Bronx toll plaza may experience delays while concrete work is performed Thursday, Nov. 3rd and Friday, Nov. 4th between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Two out of three lanes will be closed at the Bronx-bound Bronx toll plaza approach roadway during these off-peak hours. One roadway will remain open.

Motorists may wish to use an alternate route, if possible, while the work is completed.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY Portion of Throgs Neck Bridge Queensbound Center Lane Will Be Closed Round-The-Clock Beginning Fri., Nov. 4th For Necessary Asphalt Replacement Work

A portion of the center lane roadway at the Throgs Neck Bridge will be closed to traffic round-the-clock beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4th while new asphalt and binder is applied to the roadway. The closure is necessary in order to apply an orthotropic deck binder membrane and a place a new asphalt wearing surface to a portion of the roadway about one-third of a mile long.

Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Closed for ING NYC Marathon Sun., Nov. 6th Between 7 AM And 3 PM

The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, Nov. 6th from approximately 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the ING New York City Marathon. Motorists traveling to Brooklyn or Staten Island via the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge should seek alternate routes.

Permanent Lane Closure Lifted At Bronx-Whitestone Bridge Three Lanes Open In Each Direction During Peak Drive Times Beginning Mon., Oct. 24th

As the fall and winter holiday season gets underway there is good news for motorists who use the Bronx- Whitestone Bridge. Work requiring a round-the-clock lane closure of one of the bridge's six lanes has been completed and three lanes in each direction will once again be available during peak drive times.

Special Traffic Advisory Bronx-Whitestone Reversible Lane Closed 11 PM Sat., Oct. 8 Until 11 AM Sun., Oct. 9 For Concrete Pour Two Lanes Will Remain Open In Each Direction

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 8th at 11 p.m. and continuing until 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9th, the reversible lane at the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, which is normally opened southbound to Queens on weekends, will be closed while a new concrete roadway is poured.

Two lanes will remain open heading to the Bronx and two lanes will be open heading into Queens while this work is completed. Motorists may experience delays and should consider using the Throgs Neck Bridge as an alternate.

All work is weather-permitting.

Queens Firm Awarded $50 Million Contract For Second Phase Of Verrazano-Narrows Toll Plaza Improvement Project Contract Under Budget; 20 Percent of Work To Minority and Women Subcontractors

MTA Bridges and Tunnels announced the award of a $50 million contract to a Queens construction firm for the final phase of the Verrazano-Narrows toll plaza improvement project. The work includes removing the remaining three unused eastbound toll booths, improvements to the entrance and exit ramps and rehabilitation of the eastbound toll plaza.

E-ZPass On The Go Sales Hit 5,000 Mark In Cash Lanes At Henry Hudson Bridge

Three months after a pilot program to sell E-ZPass On The Go in cash lanes at the Henry Hudson Bridge began more than 5,000 electronic tags have been sold, proving that customers love the ease of using E-ZPass.

"We're pleased that people are embracing the convenience of E-ZPass, which in the long run is a win-win for everyone," said MTA Bridges and Tunnels President Jim Ferrara. "It helps motorists save time and money, helps us keep traffic moving, and helps the environment by reducing emissions from idling vehicles."

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Bike MS 2011 Event Sun., Oct. 2nd Means Traffic Diversions At Henry Hudson, Robert F. Kennedy Bridges And Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel

The Bike MS 2011 is being held on Sunday, Oct. 2nd. Closures will be in effect that may impact motorists who normally use the MTA's Robert F. Kennedy, Henry Hudson and Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel facilities.

7 a.m. to Noon: Closures of the Henry Hudson Parkway between the Mosholu Parkway to the bridge and Dyckman Street south to Battery Park via the West Side Highway means that drivers will not be able to access the bridge from the parkway.
