SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY NYS DOT Work Will Close Two Brooklyn-Bound Lanes Leading To The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Overnight Thursday March 15th  To Fri., March 16th And Sat. March 17th

Two Brooklyn-bound lanes of the Staten Island Expressway leading into the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to traffic overnight Thurs., March 15th into Fri., March 16th and again on Sat., March 17th while two steel gantries are removed by a New York State Department of Transportation contractor.

Only one lane leading to the bridge will be open between Hyland Boulevard and the Verrazano-Narrows Brooklyn-bound toll plaza.

Two Of Three Queens-bound Lanes At Bronx-Whitestone Bridge Closed Nightly From Tues., March 13th Through Fri., March 23rd  For Installation Of Steel Girder

Two of three southbound (to Queens) lanes at the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge will be closed to traffic nightly between 10 p.m. and  5 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday night into Saturday while a new steel girder is installed at the Bronx approach of the bridge.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY Two Lanes Closed On The Manhattan To Queens Ramp At RFK Bridge Beginning 9 P.M. Fri., March 9th Through 5 A.M. Mon., March 10th

Two of three lanes on the Manhattan to Queens ramp of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge will be closed to traffic beginning 9 p.m. Fri., March 9th through 5 a.m. on Mon., March 12th while roadway repairs are completed. One lane will remain open.

Motorists are advised that they may experience delays.

This work was originally scheduled for the weekend of March 2-5th but was postponed.

Henry Hudson Bridge Upper Level Project Switches To Next Phase Ahead Of Schedule

The nearly $32 million rehabilitation project to replace the original 1930's-era steel curb stringers on the Bronx-bound upper level of the Henry Hudson Bridge is ahead of schedule and will move the next phase of work on the right hand side of the bridge beginning Tues., March 13th.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY Manhattan To Randall's Island Ramp Leading Onto RI From RFK Bridge Manhattan Plaza Closed To Traffic Beginning Mon., March 12th

The ramp leading onto Randall's Island from the Manhattan plaza of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge will be closed to traffic entering the island and become an exit only ramp beginning Monday, March 12th while repaving work is completed. The work is expected to be completed within four weeks.

Sale Of E-ZPass On The Go Tags At Henry Hudson A Hit With Customers

The pilot program to sell E-ZPass On The Go at the Henry Hudson Bridge cash lanes is so successful that MTA Bridges and Tunnels is expanding it to the Throgs Neck and Bronx-Whitestone Bridges starting today (Monday, March 5th).

"Customers love it. It's been more popular than we ever envisioned it would be," said MTA Bridges and Tunnels President Jim Ferrara, "and we're pleased to be able to bring it to other crossings."

Kappock Street Exit From Bronx-bound Upper Level Of Henry Hudson Bridge Closed Two Weeks Beginning Mon., March 12th

The Kappock Street exit from the Bronx-bound upper level of the Henry Hudson Bridge will be closed beginning Mon., March 12th for necessary construction work to install a new safety attenuator at this site.

Motorists should follow posted detour signs or use the 232nd or 235th Street exits.

An attenuator, also called a safety cushion, helps reduce damage to vehicles and motorists by absorbing impact during a motor vehicle crash.

The work is scheduled to be completed within two weeks.

New MTA Cash Reload Card Makes E-ZPass Even E-Zier for Customers Who Prefer Cash

MTA Bridges and Tunnels announced the launch of a new MTA Reload Card today in a pilot program that for the first time gives customers the freedom to add cash to their
E-ZPass account at 2,500 retail stores throughout New York region.

The Card is designed to serve existing E-ZPass users who have cash-based accounts and to attract customers who haven't yet utilized E-ZPass because making cash payments to the account was not very convenient.

U.S. Army Corps Of Engineering Marsh Restoration Project Will Continue Through March

Multiple daily bridge lifts at the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will continue through March as a result of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers marsh islands restoration project in Jamaica Bay.

The lifts, which will take place around-the-clock, require full, periodic closure of the bridge to traffic. It takes approximately15 minutes to raise and lower the bridge.

Motorists are advised to use the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge as an alternate.

The center lane of the Queens to Manhattan ramp at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge will be closed to traffic for approximately two weeks beginning Mon., Feb. 27th through Mon., March 12th while roadway repairs are done.

Two lanes will remain open to traffic while this work is performed.
