Queens Midtown Tunnel Ongoing Superstorm Sandy Repairs: Queens-bound Tube Closed Sunday Nights: Starts Sept. 18, 2016, Manhattan-bound Tube weekend hours extended: Starts Sept. 17, 2016

The Queens-bound (south) tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed Sunday nights, from 9:00 p.m. through Monday mornings at 5:30 a.m., to accommodate ongoing Superstorm Sandy restoration work. In addition, the Manhattan-bound (north) tube will be closed Friday nights from 11:00 p.m. through Sunday mornings until 8:00 a.m. One lane in each direction will always remain open in the other tube during periods when one tube is closed.

Queens Midtown Tunnel Manhattan Exit Plaza Closure of “Downtown” Lane for Three Months: Starts Sept. 16, 2016

Starting on Friday night, September 16, 2016, and for approximately three months, one of the two left “Downtown” exit lanes at the Manhattan plaza of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed for the third of several stages of exit plaza roadway rehabilitation.

Hugh L Carey Tunnel Full Weekend Tube Closures for Sandy Restoration

One tube at the Hugh L Carey Tunnel will be closed regularly, from 8:00 p.m. Fridays through 5:30 a.m. Mondays, to accommodate ongoing work related to the $282.5 million Superstorm Sandy restoration project. The accelerated schedule is intended to shorten the overall duration of the work and reduce impact on customers and the neighboring communities.

One lane will operate in each direction in the remaining tube during these weekend periods, as well as during the regular weeknight (Mondays through Thursdays, 8:00 p.m. through 5:30 a.m.) night tube closures for the same Sandy work.

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Fri. 8/26-Mon. 8/29

Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, August 26th through Monday morning, August 29th, 2016. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic. Queens-bound lanes are unaffected.

Throgs Neck Bridge Bronx-Bound Weekend Lane Closures For Milling and Paving Work: Fri. 8/26-Mon. 8/29

Up to two Bronx-bound lanes will be closed this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge starting Friday night, August 26th through Monday morning, August 29th, 2016. At least one lane will remain open to Bronx-bound traffic.  Queens-bound lanes are unaffected.

Weekend work requires the following lane closures:

·         One Bronx-bound lane will be closed around-the clock, from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.

Overnight Closures at RFK Bridge Queens-to-Manhattan Ramp: Aug. 31 & Sept. 1, 2016

On Wednesday, August 31, 2016 and Thursday, September 1, two lanes will be closed on the Queens-to-Manhattan ramp at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge for roadway rehabilitation from 9pm to 5am. In addition, there will be a series of intermittent FULL ramp closures, lasting 15-20 minutes each.

All work is weather-dependent. Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly, or use an alternate route.

Lift Tests at RFK Bridge Harlem River Lift Span Scheduled for Early Friday

Intermittent, full closures at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River Lift Span are scheduled on Friday, August 26, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. for maintenance work.

Each closure lasts approximately 20 minutes. Motorists may experience delays and should consider an alternate route.

The Manhattan-bound (north) tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed for necessary repair work on Friday, August 26, 2016, from 11:00 p.m. through Sunday, August 28 until 8:00 a.m. One lane will remain open in each direction in the other tube during this period.

The Queens-bound (south) tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed this Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 10:00 p.m. through Monday, August 29 at 5:30 a.m., to accommodate ongoing Superstorm Sandy restoration work. One lane will remain open in each direction in the other tube during this period.

Sunday Night Closure of Queens-bound Tube of Queens Midtown Tunnel for Ongoing Superstorm Sandy Repairs: August 21-22

The Queens-bound (south) tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed this Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 10:00 p.m. through Monday, August 22 at 5:30 a.m., to accommodate ongoing Superstorm Sandy restoration work. One lane will remain open in each direction in the other tube during this period.

Motorists should allow extra time and may wish to use an alternate route if possible.

Lane Closure at RFK Bridge Queens-to-Manhattan Ramp

Starting Monday, August 15, 2016 and through early 2018, one lane will be closed on the Queens-to-Manhattan ramp at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge for roadway rehabilitation. Two of three lanes on the ramp will remain open during peak travel hours. An additional lane may be closed during overnight hours as needed, but one lane will always remain open during these periods.
