One Tube Closed At Hugh L. Carey Tunnel Next Two Weekends
One tube at the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel will be closed the next two weekends from 9 p.m. Fri., through 5 a.m. Monday as part of the project to replace the tunnel’s original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables.
The remaining tube will have one lane heading into Manhattan and one lane into Brooklyn. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route if possible.

RFK Bridge Harlem River Lift Span Intermittent Closures Overnight Friday, Nov. 15

The Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River Lift Span will have intermittent closures of up to 20 minutes Fri., Nov. 15 between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. for maintenance and biennial inspections.

Motorists should expect delays and use an alternate route if possible. Each closure is expected to last between 15 and 20 minutes.

Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Closed for ING NYC Marathon Sun., Nov. 3

The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, Nov. 3 between 7 a.m. and approximately 3 p.m. for the ING New York City Marathon. Motorists traveling to Brooklyn or Staten Island via the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge must use alternate routes.

One Tube At Queens Midtown Tunnel Closed Oct. 26-28

One tube at the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed all weekend beginning at 1 a.m. Sat., Oct. 26 through 5 a.m. Mon., Oct.28 while necessary construction work is completed.

In addition, the Downtown Manhattan exit ramp will be closed beginning 7 p.m. Friday. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route into Manhattan.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels Officer Critically Injured At Verrazano-Narrows

Shortly before 8 a.m. on Sun., Oct. 20 a 10-year veteran officer at MTA Bridges and Tunnels was struck by a vehicle and critically injured at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge while reopening the lower level roadway to traffic.

Bridge and Tunnel Officer Thomas Choi had parked his wrecker truck near the entrance to the Brooklyn-bound lower level of the bridge near the facility administration building when he was struck by a Nissan Maxima with New Jersey plates at around 7:45 a.m.

Throgs Neck Bridge Weekend Work: Oct. 18-21: Queens-bound lane closures

One Queens-bound lane at the Throgs Neck Bridge will be closed from the toll plaza across bridge beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 through 5 a.m. Monday, Oct.21 for binder and asphalt replacement work.

An additional Queens-bound lane will be closed during overnight hours. The closures are necessary to accommodate ongoing work to replace 67,000-square-feet of binder and asphalt overlay that has become uneven.

Motorists should use Bronx-Whitestone Bridge or RFK Bridge as an alternate.

One Lane Closed Queens-bound Throgs Neck Bridge Through Wed., Oct. 9

One Queens-bound lane at the Throgs Neck Bridge will remain closed around-the-clock at least through Wed., Oct. 9 for binder and asphalt replacement work that could not be completed over the weekend due to inclement weather.

Motorists may experience delays and should consider using the Bronx-Whitestone or Robert F. Kennedy Bridges as an alternate route.

Traffic Diverted at Three MTA Crossings Sunday for Bike MS 2013

The Bike MS 2013 event on Sunday, Oct. 6 will impact motorists who normally use the MTA’s Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Motorists should be aware of the closures and use alternate routes if possible.

 Henry Hudson Bridge

7 a.m. to Noon: The Henry Hudson Parkway from the Mosholu Parkway to the bridge and Dyckman Street south to Battery Park via the West Side Highway will be closed and drivers will not be able to access the bridge.
