RFK Bridge Harlem River Lift Span Intermittent Closures Overnight Friday, Sept. 20

The Robert F. Kennedy Bridge's Harlem River Lift Span will have intermittent closures of up to 20 minutes Fri., Sept. 20 between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. while maintenance and biennial inspections are done.

Motorists may experience delays and should use an alternate route.

Weekend-Long Tube Closures at Hugh L. Carey Tunnel Planned for Six Weekends Through November

One tube at the Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn-Battery) Tunnel will be closed for six, non-consecutive weekends as part of the project to replace the tunnel’s original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables. The first weekend-long tube closure is scheduled Sept. 20-23.

The remaining tube will have one lane heading into Manhattan and one lane into Brooklyn. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route if possible.

Throgs Neck Bridge Weekend Work: Sept. 6-9 Queens-bound lane closures

One Queens-bound lane at the Throgs Neck Bridge will be closed from the toll plaza across bridge beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 for binder and asphalt replacement work.

An additional Queens-bound lane will be closed during overnight hours. The closures are necessary to accommodate ongoing work to replace 67,000-square-feet of binder and asphalt overlay that has become uneven.

Henry Hudson Bridge Bronx-bound Will Have Full Bridge Closures Overnight Aug. 28-29

The Henry Hudson Bridge’s upper level Bronx-bound will have intermittent closures overnight on Wednesday, Aug. 28 and Thursday, Aug. 29 while crews install two overhead steel sign gantries.

The closures will take place intermittently between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. and last for approximately 15 minutes. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route if possible. The rain date is Friday, Aug. 30.

One Lane Closed Manhattan-bound Henry Hudson Parkway Aug. 28-29

One lane on the Manhattan-bound Henry Hudson Parkway from the Kappock Street entrance to the bridge will be closed Wed. Aug. 28 and Thurs., Aug. 29 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for necessary construction work.

Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time during these hours. One parkway lane will remain open.

Henry Hudson Bridge Kappock Street Exit Closed Aug. 19-21 During Daytime For Paving Work

The Kappock Street exit from the Bronx-bound upper level of the Henry Hudson Bridge will be closed Mon., Aug. 19, Tue., Aug 20, and Wed., Aug. 21 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for milling, paving and restriping work.

Motorists should follow detour signs or use the 232nd or 235th Street exits.

Bronx-Whitestone Bridge’s 14th Avenue Exit Ramp Closed Weekend Aug. 17-19

The 14th Avenue exit ramp off the Queens-bound Bronx-Whitestone Bridge will be closed the weekend of Aug. 17-19 for necessary construction. Motorists should use the 20th Avenue exit instead.

The ramp will close at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 and reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

Henry Hudson Bridge Upper Level Lane Closure Lifted Three Months Ahead of Schedule

Roadway work on the $32 million rehabilitation project to replace the original 1930’s-era steel curb stringers on the Bronx-bound upper level of the Henry Hudson Bridge has been completed three months ahead of schedule, lifting the permanent lane closure that has been in place since May 2011.

Miscellaneous work, including installing two new steel sign gantries, painting and removal of a work platform, is still going on and off-peak lane closures may still occur but the roadway work that resulted in the permanent lane closure was lifted July 31st
