One tube at the Hugh L Carey Tunnel will be closed from 9:30 p.m. Friday, January 29, to 5 p.m., Saturday, January 30, as part of a four-year $282.5 million Superstorm Sandy repair project.
One lane will operate in each direction in the remaining tube. Motorists may experience delays. This work is weather dependent and may be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
The repair project includes replacing multiple systems that were damaged during Superstorm Sandy in 2012, such as the traffic control and communications, lighting, drainage pump and fire line systems.
