This project will consolidate, replace and upgrade the radio frequency infrastructure of the existing Rapid Transit Operation (RTO) at locations throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. The first phase of the project will be to purchase all equipment for the A and B Divisions and complete the upgrade for the A Division only. The main objective of this project is to meet the FCC mandate of moving all VHF analog radios from Wide Band radio transmission to Narrow Bank radio transmission. The expectation is to transition the existing radios from wide to narrow band in a seamless way to minimize disruption of NYC Transit train services. The project will further provide a head end at the NYC Transit Rail Control Center with a backup at Livingston Plaza as well as enhancements such as GPS, alarm monitoring and controls and network connectivity. There will be remote management capabilities, uninterrupted power supply service during power failures, and it will be configurable for redundant patch network that will make use of the SONET/ATM infrastructure. The scope includes communications, electrical, environmental, mechanical and architectural requirements.

This project is to construct a coordinated Bus Intermodal Facility adjacent to the Gun Hill Road Station on the White Plains Road Line in the Bronx. Major elements of work include: reconfiguration of White Plains Road north of Gun Hill Road; creation of bus stops, bus layover and bus turn around lanes; and construction of a transit plaza adjacent to the station. In addition, the NYC Williamsbridge Park south of Gun Hill Road will be rehabilitated, and minor repairs to the park building will be completed.

This project is to replace the superstructure and rehabilitate the substructure on the North Barry Avenue Bridge in Mamaroneck, NY on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line.The bridge will be closed during construction. The scope of work includes a steel multi-girder superstructure and a concrete deck for the westerly pedestrian and utilities structure. A steel through-girder with floor beams encased in concrete superstructure will be constructed for the vehicular and the easterly pedestrian structure. The top portions of the existing abutments will be modified to accommodate the new superstructure. The bridge approach work will include paving, sidewalks and utility work. The installation and removal of two temporary catenary towers is also included in the contract.

The work is to be performed on a contiguous section of railroad comprised of a short section of Metro-North's Harlem Line and on the New Haven Line from Woodlawn, NY to Riverside, CT including the bridge crossing the Minus River at Cos Cob, CT. The work area is an approximately 18.6 miles four track mainline territory which is entirely electrified, utilizing 700 Volt DC third rail between CP112 at Woodlawn and Pelham, NY and 13,000 Volt 60 Hertz AC overhead catenary for the remainder.
