Metro-North's New Haven (red), Hudson (green) and Harlem (blue) lines offer the best way to get around this Fourth of July holiday.

Tuesday, July 3rd

For those of you declaring your "independence" early on July 3rd, we have special "getaway" trains.

For the Hudson Line

Special upper Hudson Line "getaway" express trains will depart Grand Central at 2:41 PM and 4:05 PM. Also, the 5:32 PM train will make stops at New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie (the regular 5:29 PM making these stops will not run on July 3rd).

For the New Haven Line

Special "getaway" trains will depart Grand Central at 1 PM, 2 PM, 2:57 PM, 3:12 PM, 3:26 PM, and 3:39 PM. Also, the 5:59 PM train will make stops at Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison. (The regular 5:56 PM making these stops will not run on July 3rd. Also, the 6:29 PM to New Haven will not run.)

For the Harlem Line

Special Upper Harlem Line "getaway" trains will depart Grand Central at 1:45 PM and 3:35 PM. The 5:25 PM train will not operate on July 3rd.

Wednesday, July 4th

For those of you going to see the Macy's fireworks display on July 4th, we have plenty of service (we will be running a Holiday Schedule with extra trains indicated in the timetable) to get you there and back. And Grand Central is just a short walk from some of the best viewing areas.

For the Hudson Line

There will be an additional 10:42 PM from Grand Central train making select stops.

For the New Haven Line

There will be an additional 5:47 PM express train from New Haven, and a 6:30 PM local train from Stamford. In the evening, there will be an additional 10:57 PM from Grand Central train making station stops Stamford through New Haven and an 11 PM from Grand Central making stops Mount Vernon East through Stamford.

For the Harlem Line

There will be an additional 10:53 PM from Grand Central train making upper Harlem Line stops from White Plains, and an 11:14 PM train making select station stops to North White Plains.
