LIRR President Phil Eng: “Since the storm hit, the workforce has been out around-the-clock but we have been able to restore on a number of branches, including Port Washington, Babylon, Far Rockaway, Long Beach, West Hempstead, Hempstead, and then this morning we restored service back on Huntington and Ronkonkoma for our Main Line, and it's some limited service because equipment needs to be positioned to run more robust westbound service. But we have service back on Huntington and Ronkonkoma.

Long Island Rail Road Adds Korean to Group of Languages Included in TrainTime App

The Long Island Rail Road today announced that Korean has been added to the group of languages included in its recently revamped TrainTime app. This will allow more customers to easily navigate their commute, and, with the capacity tracker function, gauge the number of seats available in each car at any time so that they can make informed decisions based on real-time data showing how many customers are on each train car.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that crews working to eliminate the New Hyde Park Road railroad crossing on the border of New Hyde Park and Garden City successfully installed a new three-bay bridge that will carry the Long Island Rail Road Main Line over the roadway, and an accompanying underpass.

MTA to Replace Glen Cove Road Bridge in Carle Place

The Long Island Rail Road today announced that crews working on the LIRR Expansion Project will replace the 78-year-old bridge that carries the Long Island Rail Road over Glen Cove Road in Carle Place. The work will result in a suspension of train service for 55 hours between Mineola and Hicksville on the weekend of June 27-28, as well as weekend roadway closures.
