LIRR Implements Timetable Corrections Effective Friday, June 27
INCLUDE TRAIN TIME, OFF-PEAK TRAIN CLASSIFICATION AND PLATFORM ADJUSTMENTS
The MTA Long Island Rail Road will implement corrections to its June 16- September 1, 2008 timetable effective Friday, June 27. The changes include schedule adjustments on three different off-peak weekday trains. In addition, some trains are being reclassified as off-peak trains and some trains will have platform changes. Revised timetables with the adjustments will be available in the near future.
The affected trains and their adjusted times are as follows:

It's become an annual event, the Mets-Yankees Subway Series at Shea Stadium, and the MTA Long Island Rail Road is still the best way to travel to and from this latest skirmish in the battle for New York baseball supremacy. The LIRR will offer additional train service to and from Shea Stadium for Friday, Saturday and Sunday's games (June 27-June 29).

The LIRR's new non-escorted "Sayville Village" one-day getaway provides the opportunity to get acquainted with this fun and picturesque area through December 31.
The LIRR package includes discounted round-trip rail to/from Sayville Station plus a "LIRR Sayville Customer Coupon" good for $10 off from a participating merchant. The cost is $20 for adults, $11.50 for children 5-11.

MTA Long Island Rail Road reminds Hempstead Branch customers that train service will be shut down this weekend, June 21 and June 22, to allow workers to install a new signal system and new switches at a key switching point called Queens Interlocking.

MTA LIRR Substitutes Bus Service For Trains on Port Jefferson Branch, Between Kings Park & Port Jeff., June 16-August 29
Weekday Eastbound And Westbound Midday Trains Affected
The MTA Long Island Rail Road will provide bus service in place of trains on the Port Jefferson Branch between Kings Park and Port Jefferson from Monday, June 16 through Friday, August 29 when major track work will affect four eastbound and four westbound midday trains.
MTA LIRR Gets You to the Puerto Rican Day Parade Sunday June 8: Alcoholic Beverages Prohibited at Stations, Platforms and Trains
The MTA Long Island Rail Road will expand train service with additional cars on as many as 25 trains to accommodate customers traveling to the Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday June 8. Cars will be added to make trains 12 cars long as needed. In an effort to maintain orderly travel for customers attending the parade, alcoholic beverages will not be permitted on the trains, platforms or in the stations. Alcoholic beverages observed at LIRR facilities will be confiscated by MTA Police. The LIRR will not sell alcoholic beverages on June 8.
LIRR Is Best Route to the Belmont Stakes and "Big Brown's" Run For the Triple Crown; Extra Train Service on Stakes Day, June 7
The potential for a Triple Crown winner in "Big Brown" is expected to be a big draw for racing fans to the Belmont Stakes on June 7 and the MTA Long Island Rail Road is ready. There will be additional trains to and from Belmont for this historic running of the Belmont Stakes. The LIRR will operate 18 trains, most direct from Penn Station, between 9:59 AM and 4:16 PM to Belmont Park. There will also be frequent westbound service back to Jamaica and Penn Station starting at 3:59 PM, continuing until 9 pm (see details below).
