Train service to Shea Stadium is available on eastbound Port Washington Branch trains from Penn Station and westbound trains from Great Neck and Port Washington. For those traveling on the LIRR from Long Island, the Stadium is just six minutes from Woodside, 16-17 minutes from Great Neck and 27 minutes from Port Washington.

The MTA Long Island Rail Road is advising customers to anticipate eastbound delays of up to 30 minutes during this evening's rush hour because of reduced track capacity for eastbound trains resulting from this morning's derailment at Jamaica Station. MTA LIRR To Operate Additional Service For Good Friday, March 21
The MTA Long Island Rail Road will operate eight additional eastbound trains from Penn Station, between 2:09 PM and 3:48 PM, for customers leaving work early in observance of Good Friday, March 21. There will be three additional trains on the Babylon Branch, three on the Port Jefferson Branch, and one each on the Far Rockaway and Port Washington Branches.
The extra, afternoon service from Penn Station follows:
- 2:22 PM express to Lynbrook, then all stops to Babylon.
- 3:00 PM stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon.
LIRR Provides Extra Service For St. Patrick's Day Parade, Monday, March 17

The MTA Long Island Rail Road will operate extra service to and from Penn Station for those traveling to the St. Patrick's Day Parade by train on Monday, March 17. Fourteen extra trains, six westbound in the morning and eight eastbound in the afternoon, will be operated to supplement the regular schedule. The extra service includes:
MTA LIRR Seaford Station to Undergo Major Renovations Starting March 3
IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE NEW PLATFORM, WAITING ROOM, ELEVATOR, ESCALATOR AND STAIRS
Major renovation work will begin on Monday, March 3 at the MTA Long Island Rail Road's Seaford Station (on the Babylon Branch). The project, part of the MTA LIRR Capital Improvement Program, includes installation of a new 12-car concrete platform, a new platform level waiting room, elevator, escalator, stairs, lighting and public address system.
