New Bridge Street Bridge Opens in New Hamburg

A new bridge is now open for residents and businesses in the hamlet of New Hamburg as Metro-North completed construction of the Bridge Street Bridge.

The old bridge had a load limit of 15 tons, which prevented fire trucks, oil tankers from a nearby business and school buses from using it. The new bridge has no load limit.

“This bridge is stronger, with wider travel lanes, a new sidewalk and an attractive ornamental fence,” said Metro-North President Joseph Giulietti. “It’s a handsome addition to the neighborhood that will benefit residents and commuters alike.”
