Metro-North to Provide Substitute Bus Service Between Philipse Manor and Ossining Stations Beginning August 1

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that the next phase of the Railroad’s Superstorm Sandy Resiliency Project will require substitute bus service between the Philipse Manor and Ossining stations on the Hudson Line beginning on August 1 through the first quarter of 2017.

Because of reduced track capacity in this zone, morning reverse peak and evening reverse peak trains must operate on an express track, resulting in the inability of these trains to stop at the Philipse Manor and Scarborough stations.

Metro-North Railroad Announces Ticketing Policy Changes and Service Alternatives During Tappan Zee Bridge Closure

Metro-North Railroad today announced that because of this afternoon's crane accident and closure of the Tappan Zee Bridge, and the related suspension of the TAPPAN ZEExpress bus, a number of changes to ticketing policies and procedures are being made for the remainder of the day:

Metro-North to Provide Weekend Substitute Bus Service Between New Canaan and Stamford From Friday Evening, July 22, Through Sunday, July 24

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that buses will replace trains on Metro-North’s New Canaan Branch after 10 p.m. on Friday, July 22, through the last train of the night on Sunday, July 24. Westbound buses will operate 15-20 minutes earlier than scheduled trains. Customers should listen for announcements and check local or express bus service to their destination while boarding.

This weekend’s service change will help ensure the on-going reliability and safety of New Canaan Branch trains. Crews will be replacing a road crossing, welding track joints and cutting brush.

Metro-North to Provide Weekend Substitute Bus Service Between Southeast and Wassaic and at Melrose Station From Friday Evening, July 8, Through Sunday, July 10

After 10 p.m. on Friday, July 8, buses will replace select trains on Metro-North Railroad’s upper Harlem Line at all stations between Wassaic and Southeast. From Saturday, July 9, through 2 a.m., Monday, July 11, substitute bus service will be provided for all trains between Southeast and Wassaic. Buses will operate 15-30 minutes earlier than scheduled trains. Customers should listen for announcements and check local or express bus service to their destination while boarding.

Metro-North Best Way to Travel to Garth Brooks Concerts At Yankee Stadium Next Weekend

MTA Metro-North Railroad will provide extra train service to the Yankees-East 153rd Street station for customers traveling to the Garth Brooks concerts at Yankee Stadium on Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9, at 8:30 p.m. With sell-out crowds expected for both concerts at Yankee Stadium, riding Metro-North is the most convenient and safest way to get there on-time.

Make Your July 4th Getaway on Metro-North Railroad

Metro-North Railroad will have lots of extra service on Friday, July 1, to help those who want to get a jump start on the long weekend, with 17 extra "getaway" departures from Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4:11 p.m. To allow for the service, certain departures from Grand Central Terminal later that evening will be combined or cancelled.

Substitute Bus Service Will Be Provided Between Port Jervis and Middletown On Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26

To accommodate work replacing bridge timbers on Port Jervis’ East Main Street bridge, station maintenance and track welding, busing will be in effect between Port Jervis and Middletown for select trains starting on Saturday, June 25, at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, June 26. Buses will stop at Port Jervis and Otisville stations, and will connect with the trains at Middletown station, and will follow train schedules.

Grand Central Terminal Will Be Venue for Overnight FDNY/U.S. Marine Corps Training Exercise Tonight

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) will host a rescue exercise involving the United States Marines’ Chemical Biological Incident Response Force at Grand Central Terminal overnight.

Metro-North train service will not be effected by the drill, which is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. tomorrow, although entrances to Grand Central from Vanderbilt Avenue may close earlier than usual. Grand Central's Biltmore Room will be closed to the public at 8 p.m. to accommodate the exercise.

Metro-North Train Service Will Not Be Impacted

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that to accommodate track work, the Cleveland Street railroad crossing in Valhalla will close to vehicular traffic at approximately 9 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, June 24, and is expected to reopen at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 27. There will be no impact to train service.

A posted detour will direct drivers to Legion Drive, one block north of Cleveland Street. Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and to pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.

Metro-North Makes It Easy For Cyclists To Join “Discover Hudson Valley Ride” on Sunday, June 26

Metro-North is a fast, hassle free and safe way for cyclists to travel to the Discover Hudson Valley Ride at Victor C. Waryas Park, in Poughkeepsie, New York on Sunday, June 26. On the day of the ride, Metro-North will be suspending its bicycle permit on certain Hudson Line trains. All bike routes begin and end at the Victor C. Waryas Park, located right next to Metro-North’s Poughkeepsie station stop.
