Metro-North Announces Substitute Bus Service on Waterbury Branch From Friday Evening, September 30, Through Sunday, October 2

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that buses will replace Waterbury Branch trains between 8:30 p.m. on Friday, September 30, and 5:30 a.m. on Monday, October 3.

Southbound buses will operate 15 -30 minutes earlier than scheduled trains. Northbound buses (from Bridgeport to Waterbury) will follow the train schedule, however the trip may take an additional fifteen minutes. Metro-North urges customers to listen for announcements and check local or express bus service to their destination while boarding. Schedule details are below.

New Metro-North Schedules Take Effect on Sunday, October 2, To Improve Reliability and Convenience

MTA Metro-North Railroad today announced that routine schedule adjustments to certain Metro-North Railroad Harlem and New Haven Line trains will take effect on Sunday, October 2. As part of this schedule change, the railroad will increase service at the Melrose and Tremont stations as a demonstration project to gauge the effect on ridership. On the Hudson Line, a temporary construction-related service change will be in effect on Saturday, October 8, and Sunday, October 9.

UPDATE: Buses Will Substitute for Weekend Southbound Trains At Metro-North’s Melrose Station 17-18 and 24-25

To accommodate Bronx track work, buses will substitute for Harlem Line southbound trains at Metro-North Railroad’s Melrose station during the final two weekends of the month, September 17-18 and September 24-25. Northbound train service will not be affected. This weekend’s previously announced substitute bus service has been canceled.

Buses Will Substitute for Weekend Southbound Trains at Metro-North’s Melrose Station Sept. 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25

To accommodate Bronx track work, buses will substitute for Harlem Line southbound trains at Metro-North Railroad’s Melrose station during the remaining Saturdays and Sundays this month, Sept. 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25. Northbound train service will not be affected.

Southbound customers looking to travel to Melrose should exit the train at Tremont to board a bus for continuing service to Melrose. The bus will be located at the top of the stairs leading from the southbound platform. Customers should allow for 15-20 minutes of additional travel time.

Ride Metro-North to Norwalk Seaport Oyster Festival on September 9, 10 & 11

There’s something for everyone at the 39th annual Norwalk Seaport Oyster Festival taking place at Veteran’s Park on the charming Norwalk Harbor on September 9, 10 and 11. Riding Metro-North is an economical and easy way to join the fun. Customers can take a Metro-North New Haven Line train to the South Norwalk station and connect with a free shuttle to the Festival. For customers who’d prefer to hoof it, the event venue is just a 15 minute walk from the South Norwalk station. Festival hours are: Friday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Governor Cuomo Announces Completion of Croton-Harmon Station Upgrades

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that MTA Metro-North Railroad has completed renovation of the Croton-Harmon station’s customer waiting area. The $3.6 million project involves both station structural renovations and aesthetic improvements. The work was done in phases to allow for continual use by Metro-North customers with minimal disruption during the work.

Metro-North Takes the Hard Work Out of Enjoying the Labor Day Weekend

MTA Metro-North Railroad doesn’t want you to work hard to celebrate Labor Day! Metro-North has plenty of train service to get you where you need to go for the entire holiday weekend starting Friday, September 2, and continuing through Labor Day, Monday, September 5.

On Friday, September 2, Metro-North will offer 17 early-afternoon “getaway” trains departing Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and one extra departure from Hoboken on the Port Jervis Line, with connecting service from Penn Station-NY.
