Substitute Bus Service Provided between Southeast and Wassaic from Friday Evening, April 8, Through Sunday, April 10

After 10 p.m. on Friday, April 8, buses will replace select trains on Metro-North Railroad’s Harlem Line at all stations between Wassaic and Southeast. From Saturday, April 9, through 2 a.m., Monday, April 11, substitute bus service will be provided for all trains between Southeast and Wassaic.

Buses will operate 15-30 minutes earlier than scheduled trains. Customers should listen for announcements and check local or express bus service to their destination while boarding.

Enjoy the Ballgame Even More by Taking Metro-North to Yankee Stadium

The New York Yankees return to the Bronx on Monday, April 4, with their 2016 home opener against the Houston Astros. MTA Metro-North Railroad is coming back too, with “Yankee Clipper” service on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines, and continual shuttle service before, during and after the game from Grand Central Terminal and Harlem-125th Street.

There’s no need to battle game-day traffic or pay expensive parking fees when you can use a one-ticket ride on Metro-North to Yankees-E. 153rd Street Station. Once there, it’s under a 10-minute walk from the station to the stadium.

Tim Hortons, Popular Canadian Café and Bakery Chain, Open for Business at White Plains Station

It just got a lot easier for Metro-North White Plains commuters to grab a great cup of coffee.

Tim Hortons, “Canada’s favourite coffee chain,” officially opened its doors at the White Plains Station. The franchise is operated by Gateway Foods, which has been operating a newsstand at the station since June 2014 that it intends to begin renovating.

MTA to Host Outreach Event for Hudson Valley Small Businesses, Especially Those Owned by Minorities, Women or Service-Disabled Veterans

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that it will host a special event to educate Hudson Valley businesses about MTA contracting and procurement opportunities. The event is for anyone who owns a small business, especially one that’s certified through Federal or State programs as disadvantaged or owned by members of minorities, women or veterans who have been disabled in the line of duty.

Metro-North Makes East of Hudson Service Improvements and Expands Quiet Car Program

Metro-North’s East of Hudson schedules will be changing on April 3, 2016 to improve on-time performance during peak travel periods, support critical track and infrastructure work and address customer requests.

Certain morning and evening rush hour trains on the New Haven, Harlem and Hudson Lines will be adjusted by between 1 and 4 minutes. These minor adjustments will decrease train dwell time at stations, relieve congestion, increase train speed, help prevent the cascading impact of minor delays and improve on-time performance.

MTA Metro-North Railroad Bans Alcohol on Trains for St. Patrick’s Day

With the 255th St. Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled for Thursday, March 17, Metro-North will ban alcohol to maintain orderly train service, and is planning to run extra trains to help accommodate revelers heading to the parade.

Grand Central Terminal Power Restored

MTA Metro-North Railroad announced this morning that full power has been restored to Grand Central Terminal. The railroad's ticket machines, website, Train Time app and departure boards are all operating normally. The railroad also has been able to restore full lighting to the entrance at 47th Street and Madison Avenue, which will remain open.

The railroad expects to operate normal service throughout the day using all platforms on both the Upper Level and Lower Level of Grand Central. The terminal's retails stores have also reopened.

Metro-North Service Update for Tuesday, February 16

MTA Metro-North Railroad tonight announced that it expects to operate on a regular weekday schedule tomorrow morning, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, following power disruptions to Grand Central Terminal that took place on Monday. However, the railroad advises customers to be prepared for the potential for 20-30 minute delays if lingering, limited power problems continue to impact lighting on the Lower Level of Grand Central.
