MTA Metro-North Railroad Names Three to Top Operating Posts
MTA Metro-North Railroad has named three veterans of the railroad industry to top leadership positions.
The railroad’s new President, Joseph Giulietti, announced the appointment of Glen Hayden as Vice President of Engineering, Michael J. Yaeger as Chief Mechanical Officer and Kevin J. O’Connor as Chief Transportation Officer.

Metro-North Railroad Hosts 2nd Annual Blood Drive at Grand Central Terminal

MTA Metro-North Railroad and New York Blood Center (NYBC) encourage commuters to give the gift of life during their commute on Thursday, April 17 and visit the donation station between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The drive will take place in Grand Central’s Vanderbilt Hall with Metro-North President Joseph Giulietti in attendance.

The drive is open to the public, MTA employees and commuters who can help donations stay on track through spring and, ultimately, help save lives this year.

Metro-North Railroad to Yankee Stadium Is Fast, Convenient, Reliable
The New York Yankees return to the Bronx on Monday, April 7, with their 2014 home opener against the Baltimore Orioles. Metro-North is coming back too, with “Yankee Clipper” service on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines, and shuttle service every 20 minutes before, during and after the game from Grand Central Terminal and Harlem-125th Street.

Newburgh-Beacon Ferry Resumes Thursday, March 27

MTA Metro-North Railroad’s Newburgh-Beacon Ferry resumes operation on Thursday, March 27, after a three-month hiatus due to the brutally cold winter that froze the Hudson River to an extent not seen in years.

The only day the commuter ferry operated in 2014 was on January 2. A major blizzard struck on Friday, January 3, and both the Newburgh-Beacon and the Haverstraw-Ossining ferries were suspended. Substitute bus service started the following Tuesday, when local roads finally were cleared.
