MTA Metro-North Railroad today fully activated Train Time ™ systemwide providing access to train schedules and on-time status on smart phone devices as well as computer screens for a total of 96 stations.

MTA Metro-North Railroad Plans Extra Service For Good Friday and Easter Sunday

Over the Easter weekend, Metro-North Railroad will operate a regular schedule with a few minor adjustments/additions on Good Friday, April 2, and Easter Sunday, April 4.

On Good Friday, April 2, we will operate a regular schedule with the following changes:

On the New Haven Line, an additional early afternoon train will depart Grand Central at 3:26 PM, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Westport, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, New Haven, arriving there 5:05 PM. This train is listed in the current timetable.

Weekday AM Peak New Haven Line Trains Revert to Regular Platforms

Beginning Thursday, March 25, New Haven Line AM Peak trains and AM Reverse-Peak trains will revert to operating on their regular platforms between Old Greenwich and Rye, MTA Metro-North Railroad announced today.

The platform changes, which began March 15 to facilitate installation of concrete ties on the inbound local track, proved cumbersome both to customers and train operations.

MTA Metro-North Railroad's New April 11 Schedule Will Allow For Infrastructure Improvements on All Lines

MTA Metro-North Railroad's new April 11 timetable will make temporary, minor schedule changes on all three lines to allow for track maintenance projects.

Hudson Line

On the Upper Hudson Line, schedule adjustments will allow for installation of concrete ties until June 2010. Poughkeepsie, New Hamburg and Beacon customers in all time periods will be affected by schedule changes requiring trains to depart earlier or later, and in some cases, to travel up to seven minutes slower or 10 minutes faster.

The Newburgh-Beacon Ferry Resumes Operations Wednesday

The Newburgh-Beacon Ferry will resume normal operations tomorrow, Wednesday March 10, 2010.

Ferry service was suspended January 4 due to heavy icing in the Hudson River. Ice floes subsequently damaged the floating dock in Newburgh. All repairs have now been completed.

During the outage, Metro-North established a bus shuttle service to connect the Newburgh dock and the Beacon train station to serve West of Hudson customers who take the train to work in New York City.

You Won't Need the Luck of the Irish to Avoid Traffic on the Way to the Parade Take Metr-O'North to the Saint Patrick's Day Parade

It's easy being green this St. Patrick's Day while traveling to the 249th St. Patrick's Day Parade on Wednesday, March 17. Just take the train.

Grand Central Terminal is just a short walk from the parade route up Fifth Avenue, and Metro-North will have plenty of service to get you there and back safely and without any hassles.

To make your train trip easier and less expensive purchase tickets in advance at any open ticket office or ticket machine.

MTA Metro-North Railroad Plans Installation of Concrete Ties on New Haven Line

On Monday, March 15th, MTA Metro-North Railroad will begin replacing concrete ties on track 3, the "inbound local" track, between the Old Greenwich Station and the Connecticut-New York state line.

Customers will have to use the opposite, or "outbound local" platform (Track 4) to board trains weekdays during the AM peak, between Old Greenwich and Rye for the duration of this project.

At Rye, Port Chester and Greenwich, normal side service will resume on April 26.

At Cos Cob, Riverside and Old Greenwich, normal side service will resume May 10.

Metro-North to Accommodate "Big East" Fans Starting Tuesday, March 9

Once again, it's time for the Big East Tournament and Metro-North is prepared to accommodate UConn fans!

The Storrs team will play in the first round on Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.

Metro-North will be accommodating the additional New Haven Line customers heading in for the game with additional train cars, as available, on trains departing New Haven from 8:50 a.m. through 10:57 a.m.



Additional cars will be added as available to trains departing Grand Central from 5 p.m. through 6 p.m. for the home-going fans.
