Getting to the U.S. Women’s World Cup Victory Parade With MTA

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced guidance for commuters to Lower Manhattan and visitors to the ticker-tape parade along the Canyon of Heroes on Wednesday, July 10 at 9:30 a.m. to honor and celebrate the United States Women’s National Soccer Team for its historic run to a second straight World Cup title.

MTA Police Department Canine Teams Deemed 'Top Dogs' at United States Police Canine Association Competition

The MTA Police Department’s canines are officially the top dogs in New York State. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority today announced that the MTA Police Department’s Canine Unit earned multiple top awards, including first place for overall department teams, at the United States Police Canine Association’s Certification (USPCA) competition held in Albany, New York, last month.

MTA Announces Extra Service for Fourth of July Travel

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will offer extra rail service on Tuesday, July 3, to help customers to travel to Fourth of July holiday activities. On Thursday, July 4, the MTA’s railroads, subways and buses will operate on weekend schedules.

The LIRR and Metro-North will provide additional early-afternoon service from Manhattan on Tuesday, July 3, for customers planning an early getaway.

MTA Announces Service Details for Puerto Rican Day Parade, Belmont Stakes and 116th Street Abrazo Fraternal Festival

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is gearing up for an event-filled weekend June 8-9 with tens of thousands of customers expected to take the train to Belmont Stakes and 116th Street Abrazo Fraternal Festival on Saturday, and the National Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday.

With extra service being offered on the LIRR and traffic congestion anticipated, New Yorkers are encouraged to take mass transit to all the events.

As in past years, the MTA Police remind customers that they will enforce a system wide alcohol ban for the duration of the weekend.

MTA Details Service Plans for Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is coming on Monday, May 27, which means the MTA will add extra trains on Friday, May 24, to help New Yorkers get an early start on the long three-day weekend. On Memorial Day, trains and buses will operate on reduced schedules in accordance with ridership well below normal weekday levels.
