MTA’s Weekender App Recognized for Design Excellence

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Weekender app, which helps subway customers avoid headaches caused by weekend track work, has been recognized for excellence in design and functionality in a premier nationwide app competition. The app won an Appy Award for best app in the “Mapping/Navigation” category.

Weekend Subway Service Advisory For Changes Affecting 1 4 6 7 A F G J M N Q R

Customers may visit our website at www.mta.info and check out “The Weekender,” which takes over the front page of MTA.info each weekend.  The Weekender makes it easy for subway riders to visualize exactly how weekend work will affect subway service.  In addition, TripPlanner+ provides travel information that takes weekend service diversions into account.

FASTRACK Comes to Queens on the E F M R

On Monday, March 18, MTA New York City Transit brings FASTRACK to Queens on the E F M R Line.  There will be no service on the E between Roosevelt Avenue and World Trade Center and no service on the F between Roosevelt Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., for four consecutive weeknights from Monday, March 18 to early Friday morning, March 22.  Customers may take the 7 N or free shuttle buses as alternatives.  Also, customers coming from Manhattan who normally ride the E or M to Court Square can instead take the 7.

MTA Announces Bus Time Roll-Out Sequence

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced the timetable and sequence in which it will expand MTA Bus Time™, the agency’s online real-time bus tracking service. All bus routes in Manhattan will receive Bus Time this year, followed by Brooklyn, and then Queens, which will be completed by April 2014.

MTA New York City Transit announced today that it will move ahead with the second phase of a pilot project for On the Go! Travel Stations, adding at least 77 of the interactive touch-screen kiosks throughout the system that offer MTA travel information and a whole lot more.

Governor Cuomo Announces Restoration Of South Ferry Subway Service

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that 1 train service will return to one loop platform of the storm-ravaged South Ferry subway station in the first week of April, making commutes easier for more than 10,000 daily riders at the southern tip of Manhattan while a full rebuilding continues.
