Six MTA New York City Transit workers are being hailed as heroes, credited with saving the life of a distraught Queens man who was threatening to leap from the subway tracks on the Brooklyn side of the Williamsburg Bridge early this afternoon.

7 Line Project Update

Manhattan-Bound Trains Will Make All Stops Between Woodside-61st Street and Queensboro Plaza on Weekends

MTA New York City Transit officials announced today that as a result of significant progress during the ongoing capital project to install new signaling and track switches along the Flushing Line, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will make all stops between Woodside-61st Street and Queensboro Plaza for the next two weekends.

Service Advisory Weekend Subway Changes Affecting Service on the 123457ACFGQW

Because of capital construction work on the NYC Transit subway system, the following changes will be in place over the weekend. This work is part of NYC Transit's ongoing $10 billion Capital Rebuilding Program aimed at upgrading and maintaining our tracks, stations and signal systems in order to continue to provide our customers with safe and reliable service.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, January 19 to 5 a.m. Monday, January 21, 1 trains skip 28th, 23rd, and 18th Streets in both directions due to Part Authority work on the WTC site at Cortland Street.

NYC Transit Prepares for first Winter Storm Full Rush Hour Service Planned

Due to the forecast of a snow event, which could bring between 5 and 7 inches of snow to the metropolitan area, New York City Transit will preposition de-icing equipment along several outdoor lines including the Dyre Avenue #5 line in the Bronx, the Rockaway section of Queens as well as segments of Brooklyn's Brighton B and Q lines, Franklin Avenue Shuttle, Sea Beach N and West End D and M lines.

Weekend 7 Service Resumes Track Work Finished Early

Normal weekend #7 Flushing line subway service has resumed between 61st Street,Woodside and Main Street,Flushing at 8:45 p.m., due to the combination of completed weekend work goals and the prediction of inclement weather and significant snow accumulations for the morning rush period MTA New York City Transit announced.

Service Advisory Reminder

Express Service Suspended on 7 Line Beginning Tomorrow Morning

Due to a major capital project involving the installation of new signaling and track switches along the Flushing Line, weekday express service on the 7 will be suspended (all 7 trains will run local) beginning tomorrow, January 11th until February 29th. In addition, 7 train service will be suspended between Flushing-Main Street and Woodside-61st Street Station for up to five weekends beginning January 12-14 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday).

Long Island Rail Road to Provide Alternate Service at No Cost

Due to a major capital project involving the installation of new signaling and track switches along the Flushing Line, 7 train service will be suspended between Flushing-Main Street and Woodside-61st Street Station for up to five weekends beginning January 12-14 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday) and, beginning on Friday morning, January 11th until February 29th, weekday express service will be suspended (all 7 trains will run local).

L Runs On a Special Timetable Six Days in January

Between Wednesday, January 9 and Friday, January 11 and between Wednesday, January 16 and Friday, January 18, a special timetable will be in effect between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway during the midday hours of 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. L trains will run every 24 minutes. This is being done in order to make necessary switch repairs. MTA NYC Transit regrets any inconvenience to our customers.

Service Advisory Funeral Service For NYFD Lt. John Martinson

Due to a funeral service tomorrow, Tuesday, January 8th on Nelson Avenue between Amboy Road and Hylan Blvd. for fallen New York City Fire Lt. John Martinson, the following Staten Island express and local bus detours will be in effect between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.:

X7, X8, Manhattan-bound: Via Giffords Lane, right onto Amboy Road, left onto Armstrong Avenue, left on Hylan Blvd. and regular.

S54 Hylan Blvd.-bound: Via Giffords Lane, right onto Amboy Road, left onto Armstrong Avenue, right onto Hylan Blvd. and regular.
