70 Additional Subway Stations to Get New State-Of-Art Intercom Devices
MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) will seek Board approval next week to install new Help Point Intercoms at 70 additional stations as part of an effort to enhance customer safety and security by enabling direct communication with station agents and the Rail Control Center.  These high-tech devices will serve as a welcome beacon to worried customers and lost tourists alike and is part of the MTA’s ongoing efforts to bring the subway system into the 21st century.

Brooklyn-bound Cortelyou Rd Q Line Platform Re-opens
MTA NYC Transit announces the reopening of the newly refurbished southbound platform of the Cortelyou Road Q Subway Line Icon subway station on the Brighton Line in Brooklyn.  Following a four-month closure, effective 5:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, the southbound platform will reopen to customers – a full week earlier than scheduled.

MTA Issues Spanish-Language MetroCard Advertising Campaign
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has issued, for the first time, a Spanish-language advertising campaign on MetroCards. A print run of 250,000 MetroCards in Spanish was purchased by the immigration law firm Youman, Madeo & Fasano LLP. 
The print campaign uses two versions with a run of 125,000 cards for each. One version advertises the law firm and its locations, and the other promotes a television show on immigration issues that the law firm produces.

Service Advisory for 116th Street Festival and Puerto Rican Day Parade
The weekend-long celebration of Puerto Rican heritage begins on Saturday, June 7 with the 116th Street Abrazo Fraternal Festival which will be held from noon to 7 p.m. along 116th Street between Lexington and 2ndAvenues and on 3rdAvenue between 106thand 122nd Streets. The 116th Street Festival is a very popular attraction with up to 50,000 people in attendance at any one time.  Overall attendance for the day could reach upwards of 100,000.
