MTA NYCT Tests New Safety Technology on Buses

MTA New York City Transit has begun to test new technologies aimed at improving safety for drivers, bus customers and pedestrians. The 60-day tests of pedestrian turn warning and collision avoidance systems will determine if a full pilot of one or both systems can proceed in 2016.

Advisory: Weekend 1 Service Suspended for Maintenance Work

From 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 18 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 1 Subway trains will be suspended along the entire line between Van Cortlandt Park-242 St and South Ferry in both directions to accommodate significant maintenance work at multiple locations along the line.
