The Staten Island Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. Scheduled just three weeks before the TCS New York City Marathon, the Staten Island Half is a perfect tune-up for NYRR’s flagship event and features fabulous views of New York Harbor and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

Manhattan-bound 104 St and 88 St A Line Stations To Close for Three Months for Renewal

MTA New York City Transit announces the closure of the Manhattan-bound platforms at 104 St-Oxford Avenue and 88 St-Boyd Avenue stations on the A Subway Line Icon line, as part of an ongoing major $39 million renewal project at five stations along the Liberty Avenue Line: 80 St-Hudson Street, 88 St-Boyd Avenue, Rockaway Blvd, 104 St-Oxford Avenue, and 111 St-Greenwood Avenue.

FASTRACK Returns To The R Line In Brooklyn

On Monday, September 29, MTA New York City Transit’s FASTRACK program returns to the R Subway Line Icon Fourth Avenue line in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. For four consecutive weeknights from Monday, September 29, to early Friday morning, October 3, R Subway Line Icon trains will be suspended between Bay Ridge-95 St and 36 St.

First Phase of 88 St and 104 St A Line Station Renewals Completed

Beginning at 5:00 a.m., Monday, September 29, A Subway Line Icon Line customers will once again have access to the Queens-bound sides of the 88 St and 104 St stations along the Liberty Avenue Line in Queens. The five-month station renewal project is part of a major $39 million capital project that will see the complete renewals of five stations along the Liberty Avenue A Subway Line Icon Line.

Advisory: Reminder of Weekend Service Changes Due To 7 Flushing Line Work

From 2:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20 to 4:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 7 Subway Line Icon trains will be suspended between Times Square-42 St and 74 St-Broadway in both directions due to the continued installation of CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) and the replacement of critical track panels along the Flushing Line.

MTA to Purchase 120 New Buses

As part of the ongoing effort to modernize the nation’s largest municipal bus fleet, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking Board approval next week to award federally funded contracts to bus manufacturer New Flyer of America (New Flyer) for the delivery of 120 new low-floor transit buses, to be used by MTABus Company. The award consists of two contracts for 75 low floor 60-foot articulated diesel buses and 45 low floor 40-foot diesel buses.
